FireProtect 2 is a next-gen device designed for instant fire detection. The unique smoke chamber does not require regular cleaning, the dual-spectrum sensor distinguishes smoke from steam, the thermistor quickly reacts to the synthetic materials burning, and sophisticated software minimizes false alarms. Everything meets the most modern fire safety standards. Thought-out design, mounting, and the in-app settings make installation straightforward and quick.
Protect your property from fires with advanced devices that detect the first signs of heat. Heat detectors give you additional peace of mind and can be used in areas where smoke detectors cannot.Heat detectors accurately detect and respond to convicted thermal energy, triggering an alarm to alert nearby occupants. They are designed to complement smoke detectors and are typically installed in areas where smoke detectors are unsuitable, such as kitchens, laundry rooms, or utility closets, where excessive dust or steam can trigger false alarms. Here are the most common types of heat detectors:Fixed temperature heat sensors are the most common type of heat detector found in homes and businesses. They sound an alarm when heat-sensitive alloys inside liquify in response to significant heat in the immediate area. Rate-of-rise thermal detectors signal an alarm when there's a rapid increase in heat, from 12 degrees to 15 degrees Fahrenheit, and utilize heat-sensitive thermocouples to measure temperature accurately. When it comes to smoke detectors, ionization smoke detectors have an electrical current that runs through two metal plates inside the device. They are ideal for detecting fires that spread quickly. Photoelectric smoke detectors go off when the light inside the device is disrupted by smoke, and detect small fires faster than an ionization smoke detector.Make sure your property is equipped with the proper detectors to keep your residents and assets safe. Familiarize yourself with the different types of detectors to ensure the best possible protection for your premises. Using the example of the Ajax combined fire detector, we will explain how such a device works and what its features are.
Heat and smoke detector Ajax FireProtect 2 (Heat/Smoke)
FireProtect 2 (Heat/Smoke) is a wireless smoke and temperature detector designed for instant fire detection. It features a unique smoke chamber that does not require cleaning, a dual-spectrum sensor that distinguishes smoke from steam, and thermistors that quickly react to burning synthetic materials. Its sophisticated software minimizes false alarms, and it meets the most modern fire safety standards. The device operates through steam, dust, and time and has a well-thought-out design, mounting, and in-app settings, which makes installation straightforward and quick. The smoke detection system uses optical sensors with infrared LEDs. The LEDs emit light with different wavelengths, which allows the detector to determine the size of the volatile particles and react only to smoke. The smoke chamber is protected from dust, dirt, and insects, and the optical system is designed so that non-volatile particles or insects cannot be in two beams simultaneously and cause a false alarm.FireProtect 2 (Heat/Smoke) also detects a rapid temperature rise with two built-in thermistors that are located outside the detector for faster threat detection. If the room temperature exceeds 64 °C or increases at more than 10 °C per minute, the detector recognizes this as a rapid temperature rise and raises the alarm. The temperature alarm can trigger even if there is no smoke in the room.
Connectivity: Jeweller communication technology and interconnected fire alarms
The device supports interconnected fire alarms and has an advanced algorithm that activates all fire alarm sirens within 20 seconds. The function is available only when the detectors work with the hub.Wireless alarm fire detectors FireProtect 2 (Heat/Smoke) can be used without connecting to an Ajax hub. In this case, the detector notifies fire alarms with a built-in siren and LED indication but does not send a notification to the user's smartphone, Ajax Translator, or PRO Desktop. The detector regularly checks the status of batteries and built-in sensors, and the hub notifies users and the monitoring station instantly if a malfunction is detected. The detector supports manual testing mode, which allows the installer to test the device at any time and to demonstrate to the customer the light and sound indication of the detector for various types of alarms.Wireless fire detector from Ajax FireProtect 2 (Heat/Smoke) features Jeweller communication technology, a radio protocol for fast and reliable two-way communication between hubs and connected devices. The protocol provides a wireless radio communication range with FireProtect 2 (Heat/Smoke) up to 1700 meters. This communication range allows you to install detectors even on large-scale objects.
Battery options: Replaceable and non-replaceable batteries
Two models of FireProtect 2 (Heat/Smoke) are available — with replaceable and sealed batteries. Detectors with replaceable batteries operate for up to 7 years with pre-installed CR123A batteries. After their discharge, the batteries can be replaced with new ones. The model with non-replaceable batteries works from built-in lithium batteries for at least 10 years. After the batteries are discharged, such a detector should be replaced with a new one.FireProtect 2 (Heat/Smoke) is a next-gen device that is perfect for homeowners, and large-scale facilities. Its accuracy through steam, dust, and time make it a reliable device that ensures the safety of everyone in the building.
