Operating principle
BatteryCam HL is designed to detect and record motion. When motion is not detected, the camera enters standby mode to conserve battery power. The device accurately detects motion thanks to dual-technology motion detection, combining a PIR sensor and a V-band microwave sensor.
First, the PIR sensor captures moving objects with a temperature close to that of the human body. Then, the camera initiates an additional RF scan of the detection zone using the built-in V-band microwave sensor to filter out infrared interference. If the motion is confirmed, the camera starts recording video. When motion is no longer detected, the camera automatically stops recording. You can also specify a security mode in which the camera detects motion and records video.
BatteryCam HL is powered by a battery and has terminals for connecting an external power supply or SolarPanel (5W), which allows powering the camera and recharging the battery. When connected to an external power supply, the camera can record video 24/7. You can enable continuous recording in the camera settings at any time, but the camera will record constantly only when the external power is supplied.
Note that batteries and accessories are sold separately.
BatteryCam HL uses artificial intelligence (AI) for object recognition. Its algorithms can identify moving objects, distinguishing between humans, animals, and vehicles.
The device features hybrid illumination, combining infrared and white light to ensure high-quality images in any lighting conditions. BatteryCam HL automatically switches between IR and white light depending on the scene. It delivers clear black-and-white images in low light and provides color pictures when motion is detected or additional illumination is required. The camera also adjusts the light intensity in real time to prevent overexposure, ensuring clear visibility of both nearby and distant objects.
The built-in microphone and speaker provide two-way audio, enabling users to listen and communicate through the camera.
You can install a microSD card with a memory capacity of 32 to 256 GB (not included with the camera). The memory card should be V30 or faster. Additionally, the device can operate without a memory card or via NVR (coming soon).
Using Video storage calculator, you can calculate the required storage capacity for the NVR or camera, as well as the estimated recording time based on the video stream settings.
BatteryCam HL enables you to:
- Watch real-time video and zoom in for more detail.
- Communicate with visitors using the camera's microphone and speaker.
- Access archived videos, navigating them by the timeline or the calendar. This feature is available if a microSD memory card is installed in the camera, the camera is connected to an Ajax NVR (coming soon), or cloud archive recording is enabled.

The selected option determines the event color in the notifications feed and the alert type on the phone. Note that the corresponding types of object or motion should be enabled in the Detection settings. The feature is available when the camera and at least one siren are added to an Ajax hub. Note that the camera and the hub must be online at the moment of motion detection so the system can activate the sirens. |
Confirm detections with PIR sensor | When this option is selected, the user receives notifications only when detections are captured by the object/motion recognition and the PIR sensor. If the motion is detected only by one sensor, the system does not send notifications. Available for the Human, Pet, and Any motion (by frame analysis) options. |
When to notify | Selection of the mode when the camera sends notifications:
|
Interval in reporting similar events | Selecting the time interval in reporting similar events: from 30 seconds to 8 hours. The default interval is 3 minutes. Selected time applies for each detection type separately and helps to avoid repeated informing of the same triggering reason. |
Duration of object detection for notification | Selecting how long an object should remain in the camera’s field of view so the system sends a notification about the detected object. The available values are Notify instantly or 2, 3, 4, or 5 seconds. The default time is 2 seconds. |
