Ajax video surveillance takes security to the next level — not just by detecting threats but also by providing critical insights to central monitoring stations (CMSs). Now, our partners can take full advantage of professional monitoring with Ajax, all while using their in-house software. Real-time notifications, alarm verification through photo evidence, live streaming from Ajax cameras, and ONVIF authorization are features already available to our partners.
In this article, we reveal the opportunities and benefits monitoring companies can unlock by integrating with Ajax video surveillance.
Feature 1. Events to CMS from Ajax video devices

Ajax cameras and network video recorders keep monitoring companies informed with real-time event notifications. Each alert includes essential details: event type, device name, and location. This allows operators to assess the situation quickly and precisely and take the appropriate action — whether dispatching a rapid response unit or scheduling a technician for maintenance.
Monitoring stations receive alerts on:
- AI detection of a person, pet, or vehicle
- Motion detection
- Server connection
- Storage health
- Power supply
- Tamper alarm
To receive event notifications from Ajax video devices, the company’s software should use Ajax Translator or cloud signaling.

Feature 2. Alarm verification by video scenario
Monitoring companies can verify alarms using Ajax video devices to filter out false positives. When detecting suspicious activity — whether it's an opened door, a broken window, a water leak, or signs of fire — on-site security devices can trigger a video scenario. Ajax cameras instantly capture the scene, and within seconds, the monitoring company receives a series of 10 photos. Operators can see the situation and assess whether immediate action is needed or if a non-threatening event triggered the alarm.
This feature enables Ajax cameras to substitute or enhance a security setup with MotionCam detectors that offer similar functionality. For even more reliable verification, these devices can be combined with voice modules for audio alarm verification. These solutions provide operators with maximum situational awareness, reducing the likelihood of unnecessary security dispatches to near zero.
Visual verification of alarms is supported by Ajax PRO Desktop and third-party software using Ajax Translator or cloud signaling.

Feature 3. URL to view in PRO Desktop – visual verification of camera detection events
Jumping to the video stream straight from an event notification is another way to precisely verify alarms. When an operator receives an alarm in the company’s monitoring software, they can follow a link to the camera stream. The CMS receives a URL that opens a new browser window. This URL leads to the Ajax PRO Desktop video wall widget, which displays two video streams: a live view and a recorded video segment. To gain full situational awareness, the operator can scroll through the archived footage.
The video stream is accessible only to the monitoring company’s operator who received it. The video will be viewed within all privacy permissions set by the user.

A video stream link can be generated following camera events such as motion detection or AI-powered object recognition. If the system includes third-party cameras connected via an Ajax NVR, they can also trigger video streams thanks to configurable motion detection settings on the NVR.
When multiple cameras are installed at a site, an Ajax system can send links for each relevant video stream. Operators can open and monitor up to five streams simultaneously in separate windows.
For this feature, the latest version of the Ajax PRO Desktop app and cloud signaling setup are required. Currently, such events are transmitted via the SIA DC-09 protocol.

Feature 4. Integration via ONVIF/RTSP for Ajax video devices

The latest updates introduce ONVIF/RTSP authorization for Ajax video devices. It allows Ajax cameras and video recorders to connect directly to third-party video surveillance ecosystems, including leading video management systems (VMSs). At the same time, the setup retains the full functionality of the Ajax ecosystem and apps.
With ONVIF authorization, Ajax cameras and NVRs can now transmit video streams directly to third-party clients using the standard ONVIF protocol, bypassing Ajax Cloud.

Ajax video devices support ONVIF Profile S, which enables RTSP-based video and audio streaming along with H.264 encoding for video compression. As the industry standard, Profile S ensures seamless compatibility with most surveillance system manufacturers, allowing Ajax devices to integrate effortlessly into a wide range of existing VMS solutions.
In addition to Profile S, Ajax video devices support the most requested features included in Profile T:
- H.265 (HEVC) encoding for improved bandwidth efficiency
- Transmission of motion detection events and AI recognition
- Control over Wide Dynamic Range (WDR) and other image settings

Bringing Ajax video experience to the monitoring software
At Ajax, video surveillance is not a standalone product category but is deeply integrated with the comprehensive security ecosystem. Seamlessly working alongside intrusion protection, video surveillance enhances threat detection, alarm verification, and incident response and ensures the highest level of safety for people and property. It is another step toward protection free of false alarms — where a CMS has a clear picture of on-site events and deploys response teams only when truly necessary. And with an intuitive user experience now brought to the companies’ monitoring software, all critical information is always just one click away.
