The new modes in the detector’s Operating mode is available with the OS Malevich 2.16 release. Ajax users and PROs can alter the entry/exit logic to make it more complex and efficient.
Ajax Systems aims at combining compliance with standards with the creation of such a product every user would love to have. Thus, it was crucial to update the entry/exit logic to deliver a more secure and better user experience.
Entry/exit logic before OS Malevich 2.16
In the previous entry/exit logic, users set up the delay timers individually for every Ajax detector. Thus, every detector with a delay was the detector in the Entry/Exit mode.
Let’s consider a scenario where a PRO uses the app and wants to mark the detectors that would have delays in the Arm and Arm in Night Mode states without raising the alarm.
For example, the entrance doors of the premises are guarded by a DoorProtect detector. A KeyPad is installed for disarming the system, and a MotionCam is installed to secure the premises. Both the DoorProtect and the MotionCam have a 45-second entry/exit delay, which means that when the user arms the system and enters or exits the premises, both sensors will be triggered.
However, a drawback of this logic is that a potential intruder who enters the facility, for instance, through a window next to the door, without actually opening the door, will still have the benefit of the 45-second delay set on the MotionCam detector.
Sure, the bigger the premise is, the more detectors it has. Thus, big projects require more flexible entry/exit logic, where every detector can inherit delays of the detector in the Entry/Exit mode.
New Operation modes for detectors
Instant Alarm
The armed detector will raise an alarm immediately as it detects an intrusion. This Operation mode is applied to devices where they’re not expected to be triggered during the entry/exit process when arming/disarming the facility.
Entry/Exit
If a delay is set, the device initiates a countdown and does not raise an alarm until the countdown is finished. This Operation mode is applied to devices that check the user’s point of entry into the facility and the final point of exit when the person leaves the protected perimeter.
Follower
The device inherits the delays of the device in the Entry/Exit mode. However, if the Follower device independently detects an intrusion, it immediately raises an alarm. This Operation mode is configured for devices that detect activity along the user’s path from the entry point to the keypad used to disarm the system.
Entry/exit delays can be configured for devices in the Follower mode if the option Arm in Night mode is enabled.
With our new entry/exit logic, it is possible to develop a more complex protection that considers possible ways of intrusion and motion across the premises. It’s worth mentioning that you can continue using your old settings — the new logic doesn’t change them automatically. Besides, you can always use the mobile or desktop app to configure the entry/exit logic and add/remove Follower detectors.

For certain objects, compliance with all requirements of the EN50131 standard is crucial. With the new logic, PROs and users have a convenient and reliable security system the insurance companies want to work with as well.
An entry/exit logic expands Ajax opportunities, making it a more suitable solution for projects in the SMB (small and medium-sized business). Also, the new entry/exit logic enhances Ajax compliance with EN50131, SIA CP-01, and VdS regulation. Moreover, this update is a step towards F&P Grade 30 regulations.
New operating modes bring a whole new level of flexibility and customization to the Ajax security system. Applying the Follower mode, users now have the ability to set a completely new entry/exit logic.
