Ajax Systems remains fully compliant with the updated Radio Equipment Directive (RED). In 2025, the directive introduced mandatory cybersecurity requirements for internet-connected radio equipment on the EU market. The renewed RED certification confirms that every Ajax device meets these requirements for safety, reliable radio performance, and advanced cybersecurity.
What is RED certification about?
RED is the EU regulation that governs radio equipment on the European market. It defines mandatory requirements for electrical safety, electromagnetic compatibility, and efficient use of the radio spectrum for CE marking. Compliance with RED is compulsory for devices that rely on radio technologies to be legally sold in the EU.
Starting August 1, 2025, additional RED requirements apply. They focus on cybersecurity and user data protection and must be implemented in accordance with EN 18031, another EU cybersecurity standard harmonized with RED. Ajax devices meet the EN 18031 requirements, confirming compliance with the updated RED cybersecurity provisions.
