Ajax devices comply with the new regulations of Australian Cyber Security Act 2024

Ajax Systems continues to meet key global and local cybersecurity standards. In Australia and Malaysia, cyber threats in the market for internet-connectable devices are addressed by the Cyber Security Act 2024.

In 2025, the Act was reinforced with specific rules that help businesses meet its requirements in practice. Ajax products officially comply with this legislation, ensuring users in the region can entrust their data with confidence.

What's new in the Cyber Security Act 2024

The Cyber Security Act 2024 establishes a legal foundation for addressing cybersecurity threats in Australia and Malaysia. It sets mandatory requirements for products that connect to the internet, directly or indirectly.

In 2025, this framework was expanded with the Cyber Security (Security Standards for Smart Devices) Rules 2025. These rules provide practical guidance to help manufacturers of consumer electronic devices comply with the Act.

Key requirements of Schedule 1, Part 1, relevant to Ajax products, include:

  • Adoption of international best practices for cybersecurity
  • Protection of end-user data
  • Elimination of universal default passwords
  • Secure update processes and file protection
  • Transparent vulnerability reporting mechanism
  • Data encryption and control over third-party sources, etc.

The Rules came into effect in March 2026. Adherence of all Ajax electronic devices is confirmed by the Statement of Compliance.

Why this compliance matters

With the Statement of Compliance available for every Ajax device, partners can offer the full range of electronic products to customers in Australia and Malaysia without any restrictions. This compliance helps build end-user trust and confidence that their data and networks remain protected against cyber threats.

Since Ajax products are secure by design, no hardware- or software-level changes were required to achieve compliance. For partners, this means no additional steps to access compliant products.

Keeping pace with local policies

Ajax devices are designed to protect not only user's physical space but also the data they entrust. With security at the core of every product, the products comply with key international and local regulations — including those in Australia and Malaysia — delivering trusted protection against cyber threats wherever they are deployed.
