Along with the release of OS Malevich 2.22, Ajax Systems introduces a new feature to the system — Bukhoor mode. This feature allows ignoring smoke alarm events of FireProtect 2 UL detectors for 15 minutes and automatically activates them back on when the time is up. It takes only a few taps to enable Bukhoor mode in an Ajax app.
Safety first: How Bukhoor mode works
The Bukhoor mode has appeared upon numerous requests from partner companies from the UAE. They wanted their clients to have the possibility to burn bukhoor without triggering a fire alarm. The latest update of OS Malevich made it possible to pause the smoke detection easily yet safely.
The Bukhoor mode is designed according to the UAE’s Guidelines for Smart Fire Detection Alarming and Monitoring System for Residential Villas. It ignores smoke alarm events for 15 minutes only in selected fire detectors and does not impact the others on the site. The mode also does not affect the heat and CO sensors of FireProtect 2 detectors, ensuring uninterrupted fire protection of the facility. To avoid threats caused by human error and forgetfulness, the mode automatically switches off when the time is up and cannot be activated outside typical hours of bukhoor burning. Users can enable the mode only from 7 AM to 12 AM.
Enable Bukhoor mode easily
The Bukhoor mode is easy to set up for a PRO and to enable for a user. Setting can be done even remotely. Select the impacted fire detectors, and their smoke alarms will be ignored once a user switches the mode on.
The user can control the Bukhoor mode in Ajax apps. Just open the app on the Control tab, swipe up, and click Bukhoor mode. Once the feature is enabled, the system ignores the smoke alarm events of the selected devices and starts a 15-minute countdown. The user can also manually deactivate the mode.
