Ajax video surveillance is fully integrated into the Ajax ecosystem, with unified management in a single app. Now, we're taking it a step further by introducing automation scenarios for video devices. Let's take a closer look at how the new feature works and the benefits it brings to users.
Video-triggered automation: a new level of system response
The latest updates have been aimed at evolving Ajax video surveillance from passive watching to active response. In particular, we've enabled video devices to activate sirens — adding deterrence functionality to both Ajax and third-party cameras.
Now, the possibilities go beyond sirens. When a video device detects motion, recognizes specific objects using AI, or when the DoorBell button is pressed, the system can activate one or several relay-type devices within the same space.
This opens new opportunities for both security and everyday comfort. For example, if a camera in an armed space detects a person, it can instantly switch on outdoor lights and activate a third-party siren, creating a first line of defense before responders arrive. During routine operation, a camera can turn on the lights and air conditioning the moment someone enters — no manual action required.
Whether in a store, an office, or at home, this feature ensures that video devices can act immediately — without waiting for a response team or manual user input. And with support for integration modules, any third-party device can also be part of an automation scenario.
Hassle-free setup in an app
To support automation scenarios, an Ajax system must include:
- An Ajax hub
- An Ajax video device or a third-party camera connected via Ajax NVR
- An Ajax automation device or third-party equipment added to the system via an Ajax relay or integration module.
Supported Ajax automation devices:
- Integration modules
- Relays
- Sockets & outlets
- Light switches
- Shutoff valves
A scenario can be set up in just a few taps in the Video scenario settings of the space. Select the By video detection scenario type, enter a scenario name, and then choose required video devices, automation devices, and triggering events.

Scenarios can be configured to run only when the system is armed or at any time. Authorized users can also set them to activate only if multiple cameras are triggered within a specified time frame — adding an extra layer of precision and flexibility to responses.
Technical requirements
The new feature can be used only if an Ajax hub, a video device, and at least one automation device are added to the same space. The feature also requires a hub running OS Malevich version 2.31 or later, as well as the following or later versions of Ajax apps:
- Ajax Security System 3.30 (Android/iOS)
- Ajax Desktop 5.30 (Windows/macOS)
- Ajax PRO: Tool for Engineers 2.30 (Android/iOS)
- Ajax PRO Desktop 5.30 (Windows/macOS).
