When it comes to DoorBell, receiving clear and attention-grabbing alerts is more important than ever. They make sure visitors aren't kept waiting — or missed altogether. That's why we've introduced a new feature: users can now receive in-app calls when someone rings DoorBell.
New way to answer the door
Previously, Ajax apps notified users of someone pressing the DoorBell button only via push notifications. These could be set as critical, so they arrived even when the phone was muted.
Now, there's an even more reliable option — in-app calls. When someone rings DoorBell, the phone rings, just like it would for a regular or messenger call. Users can answer instantly, see who's at the door, talk to the visitor directly via the app, and even unlock the door from the automation tab. All this happens straight away, without having to manually open the app.
How to set up the feature
Enabling in-app calls takes just a few taps in an Ajax app. Authorized users can turn the new feature on in the Notifications settings. To do this, simply open the DoorBell ringing section and select Phone call from the available options.
To receive in-app calls, the user must also have permission to view DoorBell live streams.

Technical requirements
To configure and use in-app calls, make sure to update the Ajax Security System app to version 3.37 or later.
