New features for alarm delivery, access control, and system management — with OS Malevich 2.33

Ajax systems continue to evolve and deliver an even better user experience. Based on recent feedback from partners and users, OS Malevich 2.33 introduces new features for system monitoring, access control, and device management — making the system more flexible, secure, and easier to configure.

Configurable device reporting to the monitoring station

We are adding more flexibility to Ajax system monitoring, enabling companies and users to tailor it to specific needs and local regulations.

With OS Malevich 2.33, monitoring companies can choose whether to receive alarms and events from each individual device. This allows them to process only what's relevant to their service agreement — for example, alarms exclusively from indoor intrusion detectors.

Meanwhile, users can enjoy a comprehensive security system and expand it with other Ajax solutions, including light switches, outlets, water leak detectors, and fire alarm systems — monitoring them independently via intuitive Ajax apps.

Scheduled access: more control over temporary visits

Ajax systems offer multiple options for granting limited access to temporary visitors, including keypad codes for unregistered users, Pass cards, and Tag key fobs. Previously, users had access to the entire site or specific groups for as long as their code or access device remained active. While access rights could be modified remotely via Ajax apps, restricting access to specific times required extra effort.

With this OS Malevich update, access rights can now be scheduled for specific time slots on selected days. This makes managing temporary visits even more seamless, while further enhancing on-site security. For example, a retail store can grant employees access only during business hours, reducing the risk of unauthorized entry at night. Similarly, a private household can allow cleaning staff or other regular service providers access only during pre-agreed days and times.

Other improvements

In addition to major updates, OS Malevich 2.33 introduces several enhancements that streamline system setup and management:

  • Extended limits on buzzer-equipped keypads for range extenders. Previously, Ajax range extenders supported up to 10 keypads with built-in buzzers. The new OS Malevich version significantly increases this limit — now up to 50 such devices can be connected to a single range extender. This mirrors the recent improvement introduced for Ajax hubs.
  • Improved external battery monitoring for Hub BP Jeweller. A new toggle in the Hub BP Jeweller settings allows companies to disable malfunction notifications when no external battery is connected. This helps operators avoid irrelevant warnings when the hub is intentionally running on internal power only.

How to receive the update

No extra steps are needed to install OS Malevich 2.33 — the update is delivered automatically. To ensure successful installation, confirm that the system is disarmed, the hub is connected to an external power supply, and the update option is enabled in the hub's service settings.

To access the new features, make sure the Ajax Security System app is updated to the latest version.
