Ajax Systems releases a firmware update for KeyPad TouchScreen Jeweller. With this new firmware version, users can view and change the state of controlled automation devices directly on the keypad’s display. The display logic mirrors that of Ajax apps, enabling anyone at the facility to check whether a device is on or off instantly.

In addition to automation controls, the KeyPad TouchScreen Jeweller firmware update introduces new features that enhance system state indication and improve interaction with Ajax fire detectors and manual call points.
What's new
With firmware version xx.xx.10.хх and later, KeyPad TouchScreen Jeweller receives the following features:
- toggle to control the state of one or more automation devices;
- offline/online status icon for automation devices;
- fire alarm type notifications;
- inherited app color schemes;
- simultaneous sound and light indication;
- easier security control.
The features are available for keypads added to a compatible hub with OS Malevich version 2.25 and later and in the latest versions of Ajax apps.
Automation scenarios
The Scenarios tab is now more informative and user-friendly. A toggle switch indicates the current status of an automation scenario. Or it shows the status of an automation device if it is the only one used in the scenario and works in a bistable mode. If the device is offline, this status is displayed on the screen as well.
The name of the scenario makes the usage even more convenient. Toggle switches simplify automation control by mirroring the interface and functionality of Ajax apps.

Just like before, an admin or PRO with access to the system settings can create up to six automation scenarios, which are then displayed on the keypad screen. The system also supports pre-authorization. This setting requires users to unlock the keypad before changing the state of a scenario or an individual device.
Fire alarm muting
With the new firmware version, the screens related to fire alarms have been updated. If a fire alarm muting function is enabled in an app, users at the facility can see the type of fire alarm and mute it directly from the keypad.
Muting a fire alarm can be useful if the fire is under control or the alarm has been triggered accidentally. The function allows users to silence the alarm temporarily without deactivating the entire system, helping to avoid panic or disruption of daily life.
The updated screens provide users with more detailed information about the type of fire alarm triggered, including:
- Critical CO level;
- Critical smoke level;
- Fire alarm (when a high CO level is detected or a manual call point is activated).
To mute the alarm, simply tap Mute alarm on the KeyPad TouchScreen Jeweller display. However, Critical CO level and Critical smoke level notifications cannot be muted.
If a fire alarm has been activated with ManualCallPoint Jeweller, it cannot be muted from the keypad. It requires a special tool (key) for ManualCallPoint Jeweller.
Informative indication
The system state indication on KeyPad TouchScreen Jeweller has become more informative and straightforward. When the system is armed, the keypad lights up or flashes red (depending on the availability of external power), thus signaling restricted access. In contrast, a green light indicates that the system is disarmed, allowing free movement within the site. Such color indications on the keypad match those in Ajax apps, which helps users quickly identify the system state.

In addition, the keypad’s LED indicators duplicate the sound indication if delays when entering/leaving are triggered. For example, it can be helpful for users who are hard of hearing. The keypad flashes red if the delay when entering is activated, making it easy to notice without relying on audio signal.
Or in noisy environments or situations with limited access to audio signals, users can rely on the visual indicator. Thus, the feature makes the system more intuitive and accessible to everyone while reducing the risk of missing important notifications.
Easier security management
The new firmware allows for easy system management in compliance with ANSI/SIA CP-01-2019 standard. Disarming the system now may take fewer steps. When the Disarm without disarming button feature is enabled, users can disarm the system without pressing the Disarm button on the keypad after entering a passcode or using an access device.
Disarming can now be automatic if the delay is activated. In that case, when a user enters a passcode or uses an access device on the keypad at the front door, the selected group or the entire facility will be automatically disarmed. This feature helps to avoid false alarms and simplifies the overall user experience.
How to update the keypad firmware
To take advantage of the new features, it is essential to update the KeyPad TouchScreen Jeweller firmware. An admin or a PRO with access to the system settings can run the update in Ajax PRO and PRO Desktop apps.
To update the firmware, connect the external power supply to KeyPad TouchScreen Jeweller.
It takes approximately one hour to download the firmware file and update the device. Please note that during this time, you won’t be able to change the facility security mode using the keypad.
