Responding to an alarm the Ajax way means verifying the threat and ensuring the event truly requires attention. That's why we've enhanced our SpeakerPhone Jeweller with a powerful new feature — pre- and post-alarm recording.
Read on to explore how this feature works and how it helps monitoring companies respond more efficiently.
More context for accurate alarm response
The new feature expands the alarm verification capabilities of SpeakerPhone Jeweller. Until now, operators could only use the voice module to establish a live call with the site in an emergency. They could speak with people on the spot — either to assess the situation or to deter intruders — or listen to the background noise in real time.
Now, there's another way to gain insight without setting up a live call. Pre- and post-alarm recordings let operators hear what happened just before1 the alarm was triggered and/or shortly after the event. This provides additional context, helping to build a clearer picture and choose a proper response.

SpeakerPhone Jeweller
Ajax's voice module is designed for direct communication between a monitoring company and a protected facility. The device provides clear, secure, and fully audible full-duplex voice calls using state-of-the-art hardware, the proprietary VoRF audio streaming protocol, and AI-powered technologies. Enhance the security setup with audio alarm verification — delivered with signature Ajax quality and uncompromising privacy.
Even a few seconds of audio can make all the difference. The sound of a lock being forced or glass breaking could point to a real intrusion. But if the recording captures family chatter, it may simply indicate that a user forgot to disarm the system.
Effortless setup in Ajax apps
Configuring the new feature takes just a few taps in the SpeakerPhone settings. Users can choose to enable pre-alarm1 recording, post-alarm recording, or both, depending on their needs. Each recording can last up to 10 seconds: long enough to give operators the context they need, yet short enough to protect user privacy.
In the event of an alarm, operators receive the audio as a single file — even if both pre- and post-alarm recordings are enabled.

Technical requirements
The feature requires a hub running OS Malevich version 2.34 or later and the following or later versions of Ajax apps:
- Ajax Security System 3.31 (Android/iOS)
- Ajax Desktop 5.31 (Windows/macOS)
- Ajax PRO: Tool for Engineers 3.31 (Android/iOS)
- Ajax PRO Desktop 5.31 (Windows/macOS).
Pre-alarm recording is possible only when SpeakerPhone Jeweller is connected to an external power supply.
