Ajax Systems has introduced a new update to the Privacy menu on its video devices. Users can now grant monitoring companies access to cameras’ content for a limited time — only when the CMS receives an alarm.
This new feature brings more flexibility in how users manage video access, ensuring that security doesn’t come at the cost of privacy. For monitoring companies, it enables a quick and informed response to alarms while preserving the peace of mind of privacy-concerned users.
Video content can be accessed only after an alarm is raised
How it works
The new feature expands the existing Privacy menu options. Previously, users could allow companies to access selected content permanently or when the system was armed, or restrict it altogether. Now, they can also authorize access only after an alarm is raised.

All settings are configured in Ajax mobile and desktop user apps by users with Administrator or Privacy Manager rights. Once enabled, security professionals can watch live streams, access archive footage, listen to video audio, or use the pan-tilt-zoom feature on selected cameras. All this is possible only after receiving an alarm notification. Access rights follow the initial privacy settings assigned to the professional based on their role in the company, so there is no need for extra adjustments. Users can choose how long the content will be available: 5, 10, 15, or 30 minutes.

The new privacy feature offers benefits for both end users and monitoring companies:
- End users enjoy even more flexible control over when companies can access sensitive content. Users can now share their visual data only in case of a potential threat. At all other times, privacy is fully preserved.
- Security professionals gain access to visual alarm verification that improves their monitoring efficiency. By offering solutions that balance protection and privacy, monitoring companies can also strengthen their reputation as privacy-conscious providers.
The new feature is available in end-user apps of the following versions or later:
- Ajax Security System 3.23
- Ajax Desktop 4.24
