Ajax Translator PRO: a new way to monitor Ajax systems via third-party software

Ajax Translator PRO: a new way to monitor Ajax systems via third-party software

The Ajax ecosystem just got a major update. We are pleased to introduce Ajax Translator PRO, the new plugin for connecting Ajax systems to third-party monitoring software. This latest version replaces the legacy Ajax Translator, offering installers and monitoring companies a smarter, faster, and more reliable way to deliver alarm monitoring services. Let's break down what's changed.

What's new

Unlike its predecessor, Ajax Translator PRO is not a standalone app. It's now a plugin built directly into Ajax PRO Desktop, the all-in-one platform that security professionals use for system setup, configuration, monitoring, and maintenance. This shift streamlines the entire monitoring experience — from installation to day-to-day operation — and opens up powerful new features for monitoring stations and service providers.

Moreover, the new version supports up to 50,0003 spaces connected, whereas the old version supports up to 5,000. This expanded capacity allows monitoring companies to scale their operations, accommodate larger client bases, and manage multiple facilities within a single platform.

Key features

Support for industry-standard protocols

Ajax systems can transmit events via SIA DC-09 (ADM-CID), Sur-Gard (Contact ID), Manitou, MASXML, and Micro Key protocols. We're continuously expanding compatibility — new protocols and third-party integrations will be added to the list soon.

Dual connection to monitoring software

Ajax systems can connect to monitoring software via the Ajax Cloud server or through a direct connection1. Both channels can operate simultaneously, providing a backup path in case one fails.

Visual verification via Ajax cameras

Ajax cameras2 can respond to alarms from any system device and transmit up to 10 high-resolution images to a monitoring station for alarm verification. Additionally, thanks to the built-in motion detection system and AI, the cameras can detect movement independently without relying on intrusion detectors.

Simplified dual-path signaling setup

Ajax Translator PRO features Ajax Ultra DP, ready-to-use presets for dual-path signaling configuration (DP2, DP3, and DP4). This service enables installation and monitoring companies to configure signaling parameters directly in Ajax PRO apps in just a few simple steps. No extra equipment or complex wiring is required.

Photo verification via Ajax MotionCam detectors

Ajax MotionCam detectors capture a series of images upon an alarm and transmit them to a monitoring station. There, operators can visually assess the situation to check if a real threat triggered the alarm.

Geolocation sharing upon the in-app panic button press

When the panic button is activated in an Ajax app, monitoring software receives not only the event code but also the exact coordinates of the client's smartphone. Location data enables operators to dispatch the RRU to the client.

Customizable event codes

Default alarm and event codes can be easily edited to ensure full compatibility with monitoring software.

Event filtering

PRO users can control which events a monitoring station receives from an Ajax system. For example, outdoor intrusion, fire, or leak alarms can be filtered out if a monitoring company does not provide a response service for such events.

In addition, Ajax Translator PRO supports SIA-DCS codes and account numbers in HEX. The plugin also provides additional data, such as device or group name, for all system events.

No more complicated setup and archaic windows

Ajax Translator PRO within the Ajax PRO Desktop interface

The plugin offers a turnkey solution that eliminates the need for additional utilities or complex on-site infrastructure. It runs directly in Ajax PRO Desktop. This ensures faster deployment, easier configuration, and fewer points of possible failure — all resulting in better client service and lower operational costs.

Most importantly, Ajax Translator PRO now shares the same familiar interface as all Ajax apps. With nothing new to learn, operators can start using the plugin immediately — no special training is required.

Ajax Translator PRO is activated with just a few clicks in the Ajax PRO Desktop interface once the monitoring company gets access to the plugin. Connection to third-party monitoring software is easy: just enter an IP address and port number and choose a compatible protocol. Professionals can connect new spaces to Ajax Translator PRO in a few steps in Ajax PRO apps. Moreover, Ajax system users can send monitoring requests directly from their app by choosing the provider from the list of available companies to connect to.

Objects and their configurations are no longer tied to the machine running Ajax Translator. Now, they can be managed from any Windows device with Ajax PRO Desktop installed. The plugin also features event logging, offering more transparency to the monitoring station's Chief Engineer by showing which employee performed which configuration.

The operator is never left wondering if everything is working as it should. Ajax PRO Desktop constantly monitors the Ajax Translator PRO performance. The app instantly notifies the operator if something goes wrong, such as the plugin freezing, shutting down, or losing connection.

Business prospects

Moving the Translator software to Ajax PRO Desktop isn't just about convenience; it's about creating a seamless and future-proof tool for security professionals. As the new version is built into Ajax PRO Desktop, it is easier for Ajax Systems to upgrade and maintain it. So, the plugin will be updated regularly to deliver support for upcoming features.

Visual alarm verification and in-app panic button service

Ajax Translator PRO enables companies to offer more advanced monitoring services, such as alarm visual verification and location data transmission when the panic button is pressed in an Ajax app. These features provide more precise incident information and expand the types of services that can be offered, including personal safety packages that go beyond property protection.

How to upgrade to Ajax Translator PRO

To start using Ajax Translator PRO, partners simply need to fill out a short request form on the Ajax Systems website. Once access is granted, the plugin will become available in Ajax PRO Desktop. We also provide detailed documentation to guide partners through each step of setup and configuration.

If you are already using the older version of Ajax Translator and want to upgrade to the PRO version, please submit the request using the link below or contact the Technical Support Team at support@ajax.systems. Ajax Systems engineers will help you migrate all objects to the new software.
