Single Sign-On in Ajax PRO apps: added security, easier team access management

Single Sign-On in Ajax PRO apps: added security, easier team access management

Security company employees have to remember multiple passwords for various apps, websites, and other resources, including corporate ones. Managing several accounts can lead to using simple or repeated passwords, make them hard to recall, and increase the risk of losing access to important accounts. That's where the single sign-on (SSO) feature proves useful.

Starting from version 5.30 of Ajax PRO Desktop and 2.30 of Ajax PRO: Tool for Engineers, security companies can configure SSO for employees and enable them to access mobile and desktop Ajax PRO apps using their corporate credentials. Let's figure out how it works.

What is single sign-on (SSO)

SSO is an authentication method that allows employees to access multiple systems using just their corporate credentials: company domain email (the email linked to the company website, for example, name@company.com) and password to that email. Instead of logging in with separate passwords for every app or website, users authenticate through an identity provider (IdP) service, such as Microsoft Entra ID or Okta.

To understand the concept of SSO, think of how users can sign in to some apps and websites by clicking Continue with Google — without registering or creating a new password. In this case, Google is used as the identity provider that confirms the user's identity and grants access.

How SSO works in Ajax PRO apps

To access Ajax PRO apps via SSO, an employee clicks Log in with SSO and enters their corporate email address. If SSO is correctly configured in Ajax PRO Desktop and the user is added as an employee, the system redirects the employee to the identity provider's login page. After successful authentication with corporate credentials, the user is automatically logged in to the app.

How to configure SSO for your company

If you run a security company and want your employees to log in to Ajax PRO apps using SSO, you first need to choose an identity provider and configure it. Some common options are Google Workspace, Microsoft Entra ID, Okta, OneLogin, etc.

On the Ajax side, the feature must be enabled and configured in the company settings in Ajax PRO Desktop. Please follow the link below for step-by-step instructions on how to set up this feature:

Once everything is configured, employees with corporate emails can log in through your IdP without entering an Ajax username and password.

How businesses are benefiting from the SSO feature

  • There is no need to use personal phone numbers or private email addresses. Employees can be added using their corporate email and gain instant access upon their first login.
  • For security companies with multiple offices or partner networks, SSO ensures consistent access policies and a seamless login experience without compromising security.
  • Creating and managing individual accounts in Ajax PRO apps is no longer needed — all user management is handled centrally within the corporate identity provider. This reduces administrative workload, lowers the risk of credential misuse, speeds up onboarding for new staff, and simplifies offboarding when roles change.

Feature availability

SSO is available for company accounts in Ajax PRO Desktop starting from version 5.30 and in Ajax PRO: Tool for Engineers starting from version 2.30. To use SSO, the feature must be enabled and configured by the company owner in Ajax PRO Desktop.
