As the largest developer and manufacturer of security systems in Europe, Ajax Systems releases about 30 unique devices and 50 major software updates each year. Such a remarkable pace has its side effects. The portfolio is becoming less clear as it grows. For this reason, we introduce its new segmentation — simpler, clearer, and intuitive.
How does the portfolio change?
We introduce new categories and product lines to make sure that the Ajax portfolio is crystal clear to all our partners. More so, we make it ready to accommodate the upcoming products at Ajax's rapid pace.
New product categories. What are they?
There are four new categories. They are Intrusion protection, Fire and life safety, Comfort and automation, as well as Video surveillance. The products for water leak prevention become a part of the Comfort and automation category. As our biggest category of professional devices, Intrusion protection is further subdivided. It has two lines: Baseline and Superior.
Baseline and Superior product lines explained
Baseline now encompasses wireless Jeweller devices for intrusion only. It no longer applies to other product categories. Superior includes wireless Jeweller devices and wired Fibra devices, which are intended for high-profile projects. Also, this product line now has dedicated hub models: Hub Hybrid (2G) and Hub Hybrid (4G).
How are the Superior and Baseline products different?
The key difference between the lines is that Superior products are more demanding when it comes to training. That is why they are available only to accredited Ajax Systems partners, i.e., those who have successfully completed a special Ajax Academy training program.
I have been an accredited partner before. Do I need to re-study to work with the Superior product line?
No, you do not. The partners who have been previously accredited to work with limited-access wired or wireless products maintain this status. The Ajax team will re-issue the certificates confirming the accreditation. There will be a single certificate for all Superior products, both wired and wireless.
What about Fibra?
Fibra, as well as Jeweller, is now an indicator of a communication technology. It marks the Ajax wired products only. There will be no more confusion about what Fibra stands for.
Are different product categories compatible?
Yes, in an Ajax system, you can combine devices of all product categories: Intrusion protection (both Superior and Baseline), Video surveillance, Fire and life safety, or Comfort and automation. Create the system to suit your needs and manage it in a single interface.
Are product names changing?
Yes, the devices in the Superior product line will progressively receive new names. Thanks to “Superior” at the very beginning of the name, the products will be easy to recognize. Baseline product names do not change.
How far-reaching are the changes?
The new segmentation does not imply changes to products. It impacts the Ajax website, product packaging, and marketing materials. Also, there will be updates to the SKUs of the renamed devices, on which we will communicate more shortly.
Do the changes affect product compliance with standards?
We are changing the way the Ajax portfolio is organized and do not alter the products. For this reason, product compliance with standards is not affected. Compliance certificates for the products with the new naming will be obtained according to standard requirements. We will keep you updated on changes.
When will the changes apply?
The re-segmentation has already begun. However, it takes time to implement the changes fully. We intend to complete the transition by the end of 2025.
The Ajax team realizes that changes do not always come easy. However, they are necessary to make our portfolio more straightforward and welcoming to all the new products ahead. We hope that you share our enthusiasm for this shift. If you need more details, please reach out to your Ajax manager.
