Fresnel lens

The Fresnel lens sections are specially designed to effectively distinguish between the infrared (IR) signatures of humans, pets, and objects that can cause false alarms (e.g., sunlight, HVAC). Larger lens sections are strategically placed to capture radiation at an adult's head and torso level, while smaller sections are responsible for generating a more detailed thermal image. This way, the lens provides the detector with highly accurate information about heat-emitting objects within the detection zone and their movement patterns. This ensures the reliable identification of real threats by interpreting relevant heat signatures.

SmartDetect

The SmartDetect software algorithm is trained on thousands of thermal patterns obtained from humans, pets, and various environmental factors. When an Ajax system is armed, the motion detector continuously analyzes real-time data from its PIR sensor. The algorithm evaluates key parameters such as the intensity of infrared radiation, the size of thermal spots, and the speed and duration of movement within the detection zone. By quickly identifying and filtering out false alarms, SmartDetect ensures highly accurate detection of human movement.

Temperature compensation

Temperature compensation is a software feature that ensures clear thermal contrast even when the ambient temperature approaches that of the human body. The detector continuously monitors the ambient temperature and adjusts the PIR sensor readings in real time using a pre-programmed coefficient table stored in its memory. This automatic calibration allows the detector to maintain high sensitivity and reliable performance over the entire operating temperature range, ensuring accurate motion detection in any environment.

The detector adapts to the specific conditions of its installation environment, accounting for potential IR interferences and the presence of pets. By adjusting the sensitivity settings, PRO can modify the set of detection markers the system uses to filter out false alarms. Setting the sensitivity to a lower level reduces the likelihood of the detector responding to active pets1, providing pet-friendly security. Increasing the sensitivity ensures that even the slightest movement within the detection area activates an immediate alarm, delivering maximum security when needed.

When installed correctly at a height of 2.4 m with the lens positioned perpendicularly to the expected intrusion path, the detector provides a highly accurate thermal diagram and reliable pet immunity. This setup allows the device to instantly identify real threats while reducing false alarms caused by pets weighing up to 20 kg and measuring under 50 cm in height. Proper installation ensures optimal performance, balancing precise detection with no false alarms.

Two-stage glass break detection

A highly sensitive electret microphone combined with the DualTone digital algorithm ensures accurate glass break detection. For the alarm to be raised, the system must detect two consecutive sounds within 1.5 seconds: a dull, low-frequency impact followed by the sharp, high-frequency sound of glass shattering. This two-stage detection process greatly minimizes the risk of false alarms caused by similar sounds. The sensitivity can be easily adjusted via an Ajax app, which offers three levels to perfectly tailor the detector to different environments and security requirements.

Each battery is tested during production and undergoes additional quality control at Ajax Systems to ensure consistent performance. Jeweller is Ajax’s proprietary radio protocol for secure two-way communication. It provides block encryption and device authentication during each communication session with an Ajax hub or radio signal range extender. Jeweller prevents sabotage, spoofing, and data theft.

Ajax range extenders are designed to increase the range of a wireless network and deliver stable connection with a hub despite the obstacles. And by choosing the model with an Ethernet cable connector, you get an additional communication channel. А single system can accommodate up to five range extenders.

The system constantly monitors critical parameters, such as the states of the tamper button, sensors, communication, and power supply, to ensure flawless operation. Ajax Cloud manages the connection between the hub and Ajax apps, guaranteeing instant notifications for users, CMSs, and security companies. If a malfunction or communication loss is detected, an installer will be immediately informed to provide rapid support and maintain uninterrupted security.

CombiProtect U Jeweller comes ready to work right out of the box. Thanks to the SmartBracket mounting panel, installation is quick and requires a minimum of tools, as there is no need to disassemble the enclosure. Adding the device to an Ajax system is also easy: simply scan the QR code in the app. All settings can be adjusted remotely, which makes further configuration fast and effortless. Therefore, no on-site visits are needed.
