The range extender connects to the control and indicating equipment (CIE) wirelessly or via Ethernet, delivering reliable communication through steel and concrete. Up to 5 range extenders can operate within one Ajax system, and each supports any combination of devices for fire safety, automation, and intrusion protection. EN54 Fire ReX Jeweller connects to the CIE both wirelessly and via Ethernet, with the wired channel as the primary. This ensures reliable performance even in the most demanding environments. EN54 Fire ReX Jeweller comes with a built-in radio communicator — no additional modules or wiring needed. Ajax systems use secure two-way communication based on proprietary Jeweller and Wings radio protocols. Devices maintain a stable connection with the CIE at distances of up to 1,800 meters. Alarm delivery is confirmed in line with the EN 54-21 standard. Events reach the CIE in just 3 seconds — more than three times faster than the standard requirement of 10 seconds.

EN54 Fire ReX Jeweller comes fully assembled and ready to operate right out of the box. The range extender can be installed in minutes, without opening the enclosure for mounting. Ajax apps help integrate the device into the ecosystem in no time: just scan the QR code, assign a room and zone, and specify the device location for easier maintenance and identification. Device profile parameters are always up-to-date and instantly available in the apps. All settings are configured via toggles in an intuitive interface, eliminating the risk of human error.
Adding the device to a security system takes just a QR code scan. All setup, connection checks, and coverage tests are handled in Ajax PRO apps — no complex configuration or programming required.
SmartBracket mounting panel with pre-marked fixing points eliminates the need to disassemble the enclosure. Every detail is designed for easy installation.
With EN54 Internal Battery (24h/72h), the range extender provides backup power in compliance with EN 54-4. Installing or replacing batteries takes only a few minutes.

EN54 Fire ReX Jeweller connects directly to a 110–240 V~, 50/60 Hz mains supply via dedicated power terminals. The power cable is not included, and the device must be wired directly into the electrical network.
Backup battery
EN54 Fire ReX Jeweller features a compartment for installing one of the available backup batteries2:

Each battery provides up to 24 or 72 hours of autonomous operation3, respectively.
Batteries can be hot-swapped at any time without shutting down the CIE.
Immunity to lags, freezing, and viruses
EN54 Fire ReX Jeweller runs on OS Malevich, a real-time operating system developed by Ajax Systems. It is immune to viruses, resistant to cyberattacks, and extremely reliable. Action load and execute in less than a second after a smartphone tap, and automation scenarios are executed within the same rapid timeframe.
The range extender regularly receives over-the-air updates using the Wings communication protocol. Each update enhances the overall system performance and introduces new features, ensuring Ajax devices evolve and stay relevant for years.

The autonomous operation time applies when the CIE is configured for an always-active display and is simultaneously connected to the internet via Wi-Fi, Ethernet, and cellular (LTE).
