Type4 FireProtect (Sounder) Jeweller and Type4 FireProtect (Sounder/VAD) Jeweller are equipped with a powerful 100 dB buzzer to ensure alerts are heard even in noisy environments. The devices produce an audible signal with characteristics similar to those defined in the NF S32-001 standard (non-certified). Configuration is quick and intuitive — just a few taps in an Ajax app.

Visual indication
Both Type4 FireProtect (VAD) Jeweller and Type4 FireProtect (Sounder/VAD) Jeweller feature a perimeter LED frame. During an alarm, the frame flashes with intense red light, following a compliant temporal pattern. Each visual alarm device can be mounted either on a wall or ceiling. This removes installation constraints and gives engineers the flexibility to achieve optimal visual coverage with fewer devices.
Installation experience beyond standards
With Ajax, technological excellence is not only about compliance — it is about design that cuts down on installer workload and makes system setup pleasant, intuitive, and error-free. Ajax sounders and VADs deliver wireless installation as it should be — complete in just minutes.
Adding a sounder or VAD to the system is as simple as scanning a QR code and making a few taps in an Ajax app. The installer only needs to set key parameters, including the virtual room, fire zone, and exact device location. Configuration takes just a few toggles — no complex programming or scenario planning required.
The device is mounted easily onto the SmartBracket panel — no need to disassemble the enclosure. Installers can also fine-tune positioning by rotating the device up to 90 degrees. For added security, the complete set includes an optional lock to help prevent unauthorized removal.
The device automatically tests the Jeweller signal strength and alarm annunciation. Installers can initiate the test with a simple tap, and the results appear in the event log within seconds.
Unique wireless technology
When every second counts, there's no room for delays or dropped connection. That's why Ajax sounders and VADs use the Jeweller two-way radio communication protocol. This proprietary Ajax technology goes beyond the standard and helps activate sounders and VADs in as little as 3 seconds after a fire alarm is triggered.
Devices communicate with the hub at distances1 of up to 1,700 meters out of the box — no external communicators required. For sites with obstacles, an Ajax range extender can double the coverage or use an Ethernet connection to create a separate radio network.

Pre-installed batteries provide up to 5 years of autonomous operation. Real-time battery state is always visible in Ajax apps, so there is no need for unnecessary maintenance visits. Service companies also receive early low battery notifications for timely replacements. And when it's time to change the batteries, the installer simply removes the battery cover — no tools or enclosure disassembly required.
