The module uses them to integrate third-party manual call points and other alerting devices that instantly trigger system response. And with two outputs, the setup allows adding sounders, beacons, or status indicators to enhance on-site awareness. This combined solution ensures coordination across the entire fire alarm system, saving valuable seconds for safe evacuation.

Adding Type4 I/O Module (2X2) Jeweller to the system is as simple as scanning a QR code and making a few taps in an Ajax app. An installer only needs to set key parameters, including the virtual room, fire zone, and exact device location. The same settings can be specified for the integrated third-party devices.
Type4 I/O Module (2X2) Jeweller is mounted easily onto the SmartBracket panel — no need to disassemble the casing. It's nearly impossible to damage the board during installation thanks to its protective housing. The module is designed for maximum flexibility: recesses and perforations allow cable routing from any side of the casing. Connecting third-party devices is just as straightforward: all terminals are labeled, and EOL resistors come included in the complete set.
Configuration takes just a few steps — no complicated programming or manual scenario planning required. Installers can run a Jeweller signal strength test with a single tap, and the results appear in the event log in seconds. Within the same Ajax app interface, installers can easily set input and output parameters — including operating mode, default state, and event type — and configure automation scenarios as needed.
Unique wireless technology
When every second counts, there's no room for delays or a dropped connection. That's why Type4 I/O Module (2X2) Jeweller uses the onboard Jeweller two-way radio communication protocol. The device maintains a stable connection to the hub at distances1 of up to 1,700 m out of the box — no external communicators required. For sites with obstacles, an Ajax range extender can double the coverage or use an Ethernet connection to create a separate radio network.

The Ajax radio protocol guarantees a stable connection and continuous device monitoring. Jeweller is designed to be less vulnerable to signal interference, extend device battery life, and promptly detect connection loss.
Efficient autonomy for years to come
Pre-installed batteries provide up to 5 years of autonomous operation. Real-time battery status is always visible in Ajax apps, so there is no need for unnecessary maintenance visits. Service companies also receive early low battery notifications for timely replacements. When it's time to change the batteries, the process is fast and straightforward: an installer simply removes the module's front lid.
