Ajax Systems has supported WHITE ROCK Bear Shelter, a project of the Charitable Organisation International Charitable Fund "SAVE WILD". The company installed a video surveillance system across the premises to help the team monitor the area and ensure the safety of the animals living there.
WHITE ROCK Bear Shelter is located in the village of Chubynske, near Kyiv. It is a wildlife rescue and rehabilitation center for bears and wolves rescued from human neglect and cruelty. The shelter is currently home to two former circus bears — Synochok, a brown bear, and Chada, a Himalayan brown bear — as well as four wolves, including a wolfdog named Nymphadora.
Ajax Systems installed six wired Ajax Superior BulletCam HLVF cameras at WHITE ROCK Bear Shelter. The cameras feature hybrid illumination, combining infrared and white light for clear night-time footage, as well as built-in AI to identify humans, animals, and vehicles. Thanks to Ajax NVR, a network video recorder, all footage is stored centrally, while Ajax apps allow the team to view live camera feeds and quickly find relevant recordings. For the shelter team, the system is an essential tool for site monitoring, enhancing daily security and allowing staff to easily keep an eye on key areas.
When we talk about Ajax technologies, we usually mean protecting people, their homes, and businesses. But there are places where protection is needed by those who cannot advocate for themselves. At WHITE ROCK Bear Shelter, these are rescued animals cared for daily by the shelter team. It is important for us that Ajax technologies can help monitor the situation on the shelter’s premises and support the dedicated team caring for animals.
Our cooperation with Ajax Systems is deeply meaningful to us. Implementing this video surveillance system elevates our shelter management to a level that was previously out of reach. This support clearly demonstrates corporate social responsibility and a genuine commitment to creating better conditions for animals.
In addition to its rehabilitation work, the shelter runs educational activities. Visitors can visit shelter according to the schedule in the warm season on a guided tour, and all year round book an individual “Visit the Wolves” guided tour led by zoologist Maryna Shkvyrya to learn more about predator behaviour and see the animals in their natural enclosure. Tours are held by appointment for groups of up to 10 people, with clear rules in place to ensure the animals' peace and safety.
