Ajax Systems continues to empower monitoring companies and expand their business opportunities. Now, monitoring stations can oversee Ajax systems even if spaces don't include a hub. This unlocks access to clients who opt for standalone Ajax video surveillance.
Read on to discover new monitoring possibilities and what they mean for businesses.
What's new
Previously, a space could be monitored only if an Ajax hub was installed — the control panel responsible for transmitting data to a company's software. Now, a hub is no longer required for monitoring. Businesses can oversee facilities equipped only with Ajax video devices, including network video recorders and cameras, as they can operate independently and transmit data directly to monitoring stations.

This new opportunity enables monitoring companies to serve users who don't have a full-fledged security system but rely instead on Ajax security cameras, Wi-Fi cameras, doorbells, and network video recorders. Now, businesses can offer these users professional monitoring and rapid response to detected threats, while unlocking new revenue streams and expanding their client base.
What monitoring features are supported
Event transmission

With this update, monitoring companies can receive essential information about anything happening on-site — with a full context. Operators immediately know if an Ajax video device detected movement or, specifically, a person, pet, or vehicle. Event notifications include the triggered device name and location, which helps to respond fast and precisely.
In addition to detection events, monitoring companies receive updates on server connectivity, storage health, and power supply for connected devices. Sabotage attempts are also reported, such as tamper alarms activated when someone tries to remove a device from its mounting surface.
To receive events and alarms from Ajax video devices added to spaces without a hub, the company's software should use Ajax Translator PRO, Ajax Cloud Signaling, or Ajax PRO Desktop.

Visual alarm verification
When monitoring spaces with standalone devices, operators can verify alarms using photos and video footage to accurately assess the situation and choose the appropriate response.
Photo alarm verification
To verify alarms in real time and respond only to genuine threats, monitoring companies can offer clients the subscription-based Ajax Photo Mode service. It allows video devices to send a series of photos as visual confirmation of a detection event, similarly to Ajax MotionCam detectors. With no additional software or tools required, alarms can be verified within seconds, directly from the company's monitoring software. At the same time, the service opens up a source of recurring income for the business.
To offer the Ajax Photo Mode service, the monitoring company should use Ajax Translator PRO or Ajax Cloud Signaling.

Video alarm verification
If an Ajax video device or a third-party camera connected to Ajax NVR detects motion or a specific object, the system generates a link to the relevant footage. The link is sent to the monitoring station along with the alarm event and leads to two video streams: a live feed from the site and an archived recording of what triggered the alarm.
When configuring the feature, monitoring companies can choose how they want to view the footage:
- Via browser — the link opens the video streams directly in a web browser.
- Via Ajax PRO Desktop — the link opens in the Ajax PRO Desktop widget.

Video footage can be viewed only by the monitoring company's operator who received the event and strictly within privacy permissions defined by the user.
