MotionCam Outdoor HighMount (PhOD) Jeweller is designed to be installed at heights of 6.6 to 13 ft. This positioning provides an optimal vantage point to detect movement across a wide area. The detector offers up to 49 ft of movement detection range with a 90° horizontal and 90° vertical viewing angle. With MotionCam Outdoor HighMount (PhOD) Jeweller, there are no blind spots that intruders can use as launching points to attack homes or businesses.
The detector uses dual motion detection technology. It combines two PIR sensors and a K-band microwave sensor to trigger the device only when both sensors detect movement. The SmartDetect algorithm filters out potential false alarms, such as headlights, lighting devices, or heat from the scorching road. As a result, the detector responds to real threats accurately.
MotionCam Outdoor HighMount (PhOD) Jeweller does not support the pet immunity feature.

MotionCam Outdoor HighMount (PhOD) Jeweller is highly effective when used as the main component for a security tower. It is an ideal solution for protecting temporary locations, such as construction sites, short-term warehouses, event spaces, or other areas without access to mains power. Several detectors are mounted on a support structure to provide a 360-degree view. The motion detectors can be connected to Hub BP Jeweller, powered by an external battery, and combined with the outdoor siren. This setup creates a fully autonomous system for detecting intrusions and initiating attention-grabbing alerts. Successful examples of such security towers are already available among the Ajax Ready products developed in collaboration with partners.
No reason to worry with alarm verification
When an intruder enters the protected area, the system raises an alarm immediately. Depending on the settings, the alarm is followed by a series of up to 5 photos. Images are displayed in Ajax apps to the users who have appropriate access rights. The following types of photo verification are available:
- Photo by alarm: images are automatically captured when movement is detected.
- Photo by schedule: images are taken at specified intervals.
- Photo by scenario: images are captured when an alarm is activated by a specific device in the system.
- Photo on demand: images can be taken anytime or when the system is armed.
The photo verification feature works best when the device is installed at an optimal viewing angle. To give the installer maximum flexibility in positioning the detector correctly, a reliable mounting bracket is essential.

It is a reliable solution for mounting the detector on exterior walls.
In the Ajax PRO app, installers can check the camera’s field of view and maximum detection zone with the Motion detection area option. It allows an installer to take a test photo to check the camera’s field of view. The test photo helps adjust the detector's tilt angle and horizontal position.
Advanced sabotage protection
Sabotage is one of the biggest threats to any security system. When a device is tampered with, the entire system can be compromised. That is why MotionCam Outdoor HighMount (PhOD) Jeweller has advanced sabotage protection to stay a step ahead of intruders.
The device uses several layers of sabotage protection:
- The magnetometer detects movement or attempts to move the device. If the magnetic field changes, instant notifications are sent to users and the monitoring company.
- The tamper alarm is activated if the device is detached from the surface or its enclosure’s integrity is compromised. The system instantly notifies the security company and users of any intrusion attempts.
- The anti-masking system detects attempts to block the lens by painting, taping, or placing an obstacle in front of the detector’s motion sensor's sensitive area.
- Regular polling ensures the detector stays connected to the hub, while data encryption protects all transmitted information.
Together, these measures provide comprehensive protection against sabotage, ensuring the system remains secure and operational at all times. As a result, MotionCam Outdoor HighMount (PhOD) Jeweller is certified according to European regulations and complies with international safety system standards, such as EN 50131 and PD 6662:2017.
Outstanding autonomy and stable performance in heat and cold
The detector operates for up to three years on pre-installed batteries. This reduces the need for frequent maintenance and lowers operating costs. There is also an option to connect a 12–24 V⎓ external power supply. When external power is connected, the pre-installed batteries are used as a backup. This ensures the device’s uninterrupted operation.
The detector operates at temperatures from –25 °C to +60 °C. It is effective in both extreme heat and freezing cold. The IP55-rated enclosure protects the device from dust and water. A bundled hood provides extra protection against rain and snow. This makes the detector suitable for property exposed to harsh weather conditions.
Reliable wireless communication
Reliable long-range communication is particularly important for protecting large or remote sites. As always, Ajax delivers in this regard. MotionCam Outdoor HighMount (PhOD) Jeweller communicates with the hub at a distance of up to 5,550 ft. This range is sufficient to cover large facilities or warehouses. If more coverage is needed, the ReX 2 Jeweller range extender can be used to double the communication range. Even through concrete walls or steel structures, the system maintains a stable connection.
MotionCam Outdoor HighMount (PhOD) Jeweller communicates with the hub via two secure radio protocols. The detector uses Jeweller to transmit alarms or events and Wings to transmit photos and update firmware. Both protocols use advanced encryption to prevent detector sabotage attempts. If someone tries to jam or disrupt the communication, the hub will change the transmission frequencies and notify a central monitoring station. Also, MotionCam Outdoor HighMount (PhOD) Jeweller detects and reports any connection loss in seconds. Thanks to these features, users can ensure the security system will remain effective in any situation.
