At the core of the system is EN54 Fire Hub Jeweller, a wireless control and indicating equipment (CIE) designed for intuitive, on-site fire alarm system management. Its large 10.1-inch touch screen provides detailed system status and alarm notifications, ensuring staff are immediately aware of any situation.

The CIE features Ethernet, Wi-Fi, and two SIM slots, so there is no need to buy or install communicators — they are already built in. The CIE maintains continuous communication with the monitoring station and Ajax apps while managing up to 200 addressable devices and 40 fire zones.
The CIE can be installed in minutes without enclosure disassembly and is ready to operate right out of the box. The installation kit includes the SmartBracket panel and all the necessary fasteners so an installer can effortlessly mount the device on the wall. For cases when cables are not routed inside the wall, Ajax Systems has designed GlandBox — an accessory for lateral wire entry via cable glands.

Besides fire safety, EN54 Fire Hub Jeweller supports EN 50131 (Grade 2) intrusion protection, automation, and video surveillance. Just about any combination of Ajax devices can be connected to a single space and work together as one integrated system. Wireless coverage that outperforms traditional solutions
As radio communicators are built in, they provide seamless connectivity between the CIE and addressable fire detectors, sounders, VADs, I/O modules, manual call points, and other system devices. The CIE uses the Jeweller communication protocol to transmit real-time device states, alarms, events, and all measured readings to Ajax apps. The Wings and TurboWings protocols are designed to ensure visual verification and large data packets for individual settings, such as interface languages and firmware updates. The wireless range can reach up to 1,800 m.
To enlarge system coverage, especially in large or multi-level buildings, there is EN54 ReX Jeweller. It extends range between the CIE and system devices, supporting communication via both Ajax's proprietary radio protocols (Jeweller, Wings, and TurboWings) and Ethernet. With five range extenders connected to one CIE, the coverage can be boosted to up to 35 km².
Stable performance even in a blackout
Both the CIE and range extender feature power terminals1 for direct connection to a 110–240 V~, 50/60 Hz mains supply. Devices must also have a backup battery to provide uninterrupted operation during prolonged power outages. To ensure that, EN54 Line includes EN54 Internal Battery with a capacity of 5 or 10 Ah for 24 or 72 hours of autonomous operation, depending on the battery2 model. These lithium-ion batteries are hot-swappable, meaning there's no need to shut down the system during replacement.

Powered by the HazeFlow 2 algorithm, the smoke sensor delivers exceptional detection speed and accuracy. The heat sensor uses two thermistors to monitor both rapid rises and fixed temperature thresholds and works in several selectable modes.

The EN54 FireProtect Jeweller sounders and visual alarm devices (VADs) meet this requirement with record speed by activating in under three seconds after an alarm. Each device supports either sound-only, visual-only, or combined alert options, enabling tailored warning strategies across different facility areas.
Sounders deliver audible alerts with a volume of up to 100 dB, with 32 selectable tones to meet local regulations or specific hazard types. VADs use a perimeter-mounted LED frame to produce high-intensity red flashes that are easily visible even in challenging lighting conditions. These devices can be mounted on either ceilings or walls, providing installers with flexibility in meeting coverage requirements with smaller inventory.

EN54 I/O Module (2X2) Jeweller adds a powerful automation layer to the system. The module includes two inputs and two outputs to connect and control third-party devices and automate key actions in fire scenarios. It can activate a voice evacuation system (PAVA/VACIE), switch on evacuation signs, control elevator access, or unlock emergency exits even if the CIE is temporarily offline. Up to 64 automation scenarios are available for one CIE to automate every safety measure. The CIE also works with Ajax smart relays, sockets, outlets, light switches, and shut-off valves to help automate emergency responses.

Visual alarm verification for greater safety
Ajax MotionCam detectors and security cameras can be added to the setup for visual alarm verification. When an alarm is triggered, the system sends a photo or video clip straight to an Ajax app and monitoring station in just a few seconds. This gives the fire officer on site a chance to quickly check whether the threat is real. It also helps prevent panic and unnecessary dispatches if the alarm is false. However, in case of a real emergency, visual verification provides the information needed to guide firefighters to the source of the danger faster.

Simply remove the device from the mount, open the battery covers, replace the batteries, and put everything back in place.
