Ajax basic and HL cameras get a significant upgrade: more accurate detection powered by proprietary built-in AI. After two years of gathering user feedback, intensive research, and rigorous testing, the Ajax team has fine-tuned AI performance across key criteria, reducing false alarms to an absolute minimum.
How AI works in Ajax cameras
AI is built into every Ajax camera as an onboard module. It is a proprietary, in-house trained system that distinguishes between people, pets, and vehicles in the camera's field of view.

AI enhances every stage of video monitoring, from live view and recording to archive navigation. AI-powered recognition can trigger recording to capture only relevant events and save storage, as well as activate deterrence and video scenarios to automate system responses. In the archive, AI-recognized objects are marked with color labels on the timeline and can be easily found using filters.

What's improved
Although the built-in AI in Ajax video devices already delivered exceptional performance, the Ajax team continued to refine it based on user feedback. After two years of data collection and analysis, the model was optimized through automated dataset processing, paired comparison, and analysis of common use cases.
In total, thousands of detections were tested. The overall false alarm rate was reduced from 5% to 1% under real-life conditions. Among the most significant improvements:
- Better nighttime accuracy: Ajax cameras now achieve 95% accuracy in filtering out false alarms caused by environmental factors such as insects, rain, snow, and dust in low-light conditions.
- Fewer pet misidentifications: Cases where pets are mistaken for people have been reduced fivefold.
- Enhanced pet recognition: Overall pet detection accuracy has increased by an additional 10%.
Why this improvement matters
Detection accuracy is not about impressive figures — it's about reliable day-to-day operation. A system that works consistently builds trust, avoids distracting users with false alarms, and reduces unnecessary dispatch costs.
For monitoring stations and service teams, more accurate AI means fewer troubleshooting requests and higher customer satisfaction.
