Why Fibra

Fast and easy implementation

Fibra lines are multifunctional and support different types of devices on a single line: sirens, keypads, line extenders, detectors with photo verification, etc. This significantly reduces the deployment time, even for the most complex wired configuration.

Cost-effective all the way

Ajax apps help quickly integrate a device into the system and, if necessary, reconfigure it later without site visits. There is no need for programming — everything is ready out of the box.

No additional equipment

The Fibra line can reach up to 6,550 ft without additional power supply or signal amplifiers. It’s four times more than the average solution on the market can offer.

Informative notifications and real-time states

Fibra operates with digital data, not EOLs and relay outputs. Every alarm and event notification is backed by the device name, location, and exact time in Ajax apps.

Ultra-low power consumption

Thanks to low energy consumption of Fibra devices and Battery Power Saver mode, the setup can be powered for up to 200 hours by a 12 V⎓ battery with 7 A·h capacity.

Advanced anti-sabotage

Fibra products have been tested and certified by the most respected institutions and laboratories worldwide to prove outstanding sabotage resistance.

High-performance wiring for high-security sites

Fibra is a wired communication technology designed to connect Ajax Superior devices to a hub. Most Fibra devices fully comply with Grade 3 requirements and a wide range of other local and international standards. So, a Fibra-based system can easily cover large enterprises and high-risk sites. It also seamlessly integrates with Ajax wireless devices, offering numerous security setup options. With a set of professional software and hardware tools created for fast installation and configuration, Fibra is a new industry standard that gives the ultimate experience to PROs.

Wired Fibra devices are part of the Superior product line. Only accredited Ajax Systems partners can sell, install, and administer Superior products.

For sites of any size

A Fibra line can reach up to 6,550 ft without additional power supply or signal amplifiers1, setting a new high for connectivity in the industry. Fibra accessories can split the lines and extend them to many miles if needed. With this level of flexibility and length margin, the size of the property is no longer a limit. Whether it's a private house, multistory building, or business center, a single cable can cover the entire facility, making it budget-friendly for a client.

More freedom in project designing

Fibra is easy and flexible all the way. Three available topologies help to build setups of any configuration. An installer can create complex wiring routes to enhance security or even lay a separate line for each connected device. There is no programming — everything is ready to use right away.

Beam (Radial wiring) uses one Fibra line. It provides up to 6,550 ft of wired communication1 without line extenders. One hub can have up to eight beams or their combination with other topologies.

beam-topology

Ring2 takes two Fibra lines to form a hub–device–hub connection. In case of line breakage, no device fails; instead, two beams are formed.

The Ring gives up to 1,640 ft of wired communication and can also be combined with other topologies on one hub.

Tree connection helps create more complex setups by line branching with Fibra accessories. Superior LineSplit Fibra divides one line into four and extends each by 6,550 ft. Superior LineSupply Fibra provides the line with an extra power supply and extends it too.

In an Ajax system, you can combine devices of all product categories: Intrusion protection (both Superior and Baseline), Video surveillance, Fire and life safety, or Comfort and automation. Create the system to suit your needs and manage it in a single interface.

Twice faster to install

The Fibra technology uses a single cable for both power and data transmission. Each line is multifunctional and supports different device types in any combination: sirens, keypads, and even MotionCam detectors with photo verification — no worries about the additional power supply.

Informative notifications and real-time states in the apps

Each Fibra device is smart and sends digital data packages to a hub. There are no interruptions or delays even when 100 devices are connected to a single line and send alarms simultaneously. A monitoring company immediately receives an alarm with all the necessary information: name of the device that was triggered, time of the event, security group, and the room where the device is located. The company also receives photos to verify the alarm in Ajax apps or third-party CMS3 software.

10 countermeasures against sabotage

Advanced system supervision

Advanced system supervision

An Ajax system based on Fibra continuously monitors all essential parameters4 like tamper, communication, power supply, voltage, and even sensor states. A monitoring company and installer are instantly notified of a malfunction or connection failure via Ajax apps. The notifications provide all the details, including the line, device name, and its location.

Protection against line breakage

Protection against line breakage

Fibra supports Ring connection topology. If a ring breaks, it splits into two working segments — two Beams. All connected devices continue to operate. The system instantly notifies both a monitoring company and users of the breakage.

Alarm delivery confirmation

Alarm delivery confirmation

Fibra technology provides secure two-way communication with wired devices. When a device sends an alarm, the hub confirms receipt by sending a confirmation message back to the detector. If the alarm is not delivered, the detector continues to send it until the hub confirms the receipt.

Data encryption

Data encryption

All data stored and transmitted by the system is protected by a proprietary NIST-certified cipher based on AES-128. This encryption makes it extremely difficult to reprogram the device and replace or steal the data, and the NIST certification proves that user and device data is inaccessible to attackers.

Data backup in case of connection loss

Data backup in case of connection loss

When a Fibra line breaks during sabotage attempts, wired MotionCam detectors continue to operate from a built-in battery. Alarms and the photos capturing them are stored in the detectors' buffer memory. Once the connection with the hub gets restored, all data is sent to Ajax apps and CMS software.

Device authentication against spoofing

Device authentication against spoofing

Fibra technology has a verification algorithm to validate connection between a hub and every connected device. The hub authenticates the device during each communication session by checking its unique parameters. If any parameter fails the check, the hub disregards the device’s commands.

Regular polling

Regular polling

Fibra devices regularly exchange data with a hub. The system controls each device’s state and reports if there is a malfunction or connection loss. At minimal polling interval settings (3 data packages every 12 seconds), it takes only 36 seconds to detect communication loss and notify the monitoring company and users of the incident.

Line voltage control

Line voltage control

A hub constantly monitors the voltage on the line and in each Fibra device. If the voltage becomes very low or increases sharply, the monitoring company and users are instantly notified. An installer can quickly assist the client and provide on-time maintenance to prevent the harmful impact of voltage sags on the system.

Protection against short circuit

Protection against short circuit

The system instantly detects a short circuit on the line and notifies the monitoring company and users. When the problem is fixed, there is no need to replace the fuses. The system restores operation automatically.

No data collision

No data collision

The Fibra communication protocol is designed to handle all potential collisions. Even when 100 devices are connected to one line and send an alarm simultaneously, data loss is excluded. The hub is guaranteed to receive all alarms and to notify the monitoring company in less than a second.

Fibra devices consume ten times less energy than similar detectors from other manufacturers. Fibra technology also follows the TDMA principle: each device has a short time frame to exchange data with a hub, and its communication module is inactive for the rest of the time. Several Fibra devices are hardwired with a backup battery to avoid voltage sags during alarms. Such devices have an optimized algorithm to recharge the backup battery without affecting other devices.
