Introducing Superior MultiTransmitter IO (4X4) Fibra: security and automation powered by Ajax

Security solutions are not about fast fashion — they are built to last for decades. New technologies are emerging faster than old security devices go out of service. Integration modules bring innovation to these security old-timers and let them unleash their potential within the Ajax ecosystem at a lower cost to the owner.

At this year’s Ajax Special Event, we introduced a new integration module: Superior MultiTransmitter IO (4X4) Fibra. As its name suggests, the wired Fibra module features both inputs and outputs, so it can receive alarms from third-party devices and control their power supply. All within an Ajax system. Certified to a number of strict security standards, this module is suitable for high-risk facilities and building door protection on the unavoidability principle (German: Zwangsläufigkeit).

A new way to integrate third-party devices

Our portfolio offers various solutions for connecting third-party equipment to an Ajax system and providing its owners with Ajax in-app control, informative notifications, and automation scenarios. Those are single wired and wireless integration modules, small enough to be installed inside a device, and MultiTransmitter modules that connect up to 18 wired devices. The portfolio also includes wired and wireless relays for controlling electrical devices and appliances.

Superior MultiTransmitter IO (4X4) Fibra combines the best of both worlds. With four input and four output zones, this wired module is a perfect compromise for small- and medium-sized projects. A small store using a few old opening and motion detectors, a panic button, bolt locks, and sirens can manage all of these devices with just one Superior MultiTransmitter IO (4X4) Fibra. So there is no need to buy several modules and additional relays.

Our new integration module is also well-suited for building advanced door-locking systems. It is a common practice in the DACH market, where intrusion protection relies heavily on the unavoidability principle. True to our mission, we bring the advantages of local market practices to Ajax partners and users worldwide.

Enhanced integration and control for every security need

Inputs: seamless alarm delivery

Superior MultiTransmitter IO (4X4) Fibra upholds the wide compatibility of preceding Ajax integration modules. With support for NC, NO, EOL, 2EOL, 3EOL, and roller shutter connections, pulse or bistable modes, the module can work with nearly any security device. Thanks to the KeyArm Zone feature, integrated third-party access controllers can manage the security mode of an Ajax system.

Integrated devices adopt installation and usage flexibility typical of Ajax devices. Installers don’t need to measure each device’s EOL resistance on their own using special measuring tools. It is done with one tap in an Ajax app: automatically, instantly, and with pinpoint accuracy. Once set up, these devices are ready to send real-time event notifications to security companies and users.

Each connected device can report one of more than ten available alarm types, including intrusion, fire, auxiliary, and gas alarms. Additionally, a custom event setting allows devices to send specific notifications without activating an alarm.

Outputs: fail-free security control

The four output zones of Superior MultiTransmitter IO (4X4) Fibra further expand its compatibility. They enable professional door protection setups and control over various third-party electrical devices. Two of the four outputs are logical, and two are relay outputs.

Logical outputs can be set to a logical 0 or a logical 1, delivering either 0 or 12 V to connected devices, respectively. They are typically used for door-locking systems to control blocking elements and electric locks. Relay outputs, providing only direct current, can switch the state of any integrated electric device, such as sirens, lighting appliances, or a ventilation system.

Once integrated into the Ajax ecosystem, third-party devices function seamlessly alongside Ajax devices. Users can control them in the app or use automated scenarios. For example, system owners can open the gates via the app to let their friends come to visit them. It is also possible to set sirens and strobe lights to turn on automatically if an infrared motion detector spots potential intruders. Installers can disable in-app control, so the system performs scenarios like clockwork with little to no chance of human error.

Upgrade and expand: integrate the old and embrace the new with Ajax

Superior MultiTransmitter IO (4X4) Fibra is designed to bring the benefits of a modern security system to outdated setups. Replacing old motion detectors, sirens, keypads, and other security devices with newer ones can be a tough decision, especially if they effectively protect the property. With the integration module, these devices learn to inform security companies and users of a threat through detailed notifications and participate in automation scenarios as part of an Ajax system.

The new integration module also paves the way for an Ajax system to new facilities and projects. While the Ajax portfolio is continuously expanding, it doesn’t yet cover every security need. However, with Superior MultiTransmitter IO (4X4) Fibra, third-party PIR motion detectors, gas detectors, float sensors, roller shutters, and other devices outside the Ajax portfolio can be seamlessly integrated into an Ajax system. The module’s outputs, in turn, allow Ajax users to control door locks, strobe lights, or air conditioning units.

Meeting security standards: Ajax integration for high-risk facilities

Superior MultiTransmitter IO (4X4) Fibra helps configure an Ajax system for facilities requiring advanced security compliance. With its extensive certifications, including Grade 3 and PD, it is suitable not only for private homes or small shops and offices but also for complex installations in banks, jewelry stores, administrative offices, governmental agencies, museums, and critical infrastructure facilities.

In particular, the module supports building robust door protection based on Zwangsläufigkeit, the unavoidability principle required by the VdS standard and common in the DACH region. The principle minimizes the risk of false alarms, ensuring that an electric bolt locks the door until the system is disarmed.

Multi-layered security that is hard to compromise

Security companies and users will always know if something goes wrong with the integration module. Like any Ajax device, Superior MultiTransmitter IO (4X4) Fibra monitors its state and reports it to an Ajax hub. The tamper, communication, and power supply statuses are continuously visible in Ajax apps. If a malfunction occurs, the module instantly sends detailed notifications to all users.

Superior MultiTransmitter IO (4X4) Fibra uses the Fibra wired communication protocol to transmit events and alarms, which is itself a seal of professional-grade sabotage protection. The module features signature data encryption, as well as spoofing and short-circuit protection. Additionally, it alerts security companies and users to sabotage attempts on connected third-party devices, detecting tamper alarm, malfunctions, masking, cable breakage, and short circuits.

Hassle-free installation, even for a wired setup

Installing a wired system, especially with older third-party devices, can be quite a challenge. Yet, Ajax always simplifies the process to make it as quick and trouble-free as possible. No programming, additional tools or devices, or cable clutter is required.

Superior MultiTransmitter IO (4X4) Fibra is a board compatible with Ajax Case A (106), Case B (175), and Case D (430). It can be installed in a smaller casing as a standalone device or be combined with other boards and batteries in larger Case devices. Either way, Ajax casings come with all the necessary tools, holders, and a tamper board, so it takes minutes to securely install the integration module.

Both Superior MultiTransmitter IO (4X4) Fibra and third-party devices can be added to an Ajax system within minutes via an Ajax app. Installers only need to scan a QR code or automatically scan the lines and set up the module. The same applies to third-party equipment: once EOL resistance is automatically measured, the devices are ready for configuration in the same app.

Superior MultiTransmitter IO (4X4) Fibra: bringing Ajax to even more projects

The new integration module offers even more flexibility for security companies. With its four inputs and four outputs, it is a perfect solution for combined security in small- and medium-sized projects. The module’s secure Fibra wired technology, Ajax-grade sabotage protection, and compliance with strict security standards make it suitable for high-security projects, including high-risk facilities.

Superior MultiTransmitter IO (4X4) Fibra extends Ajax’s ecosystem to nearly any security device thanks to its extensive compatibility. Third-party products can be configured and controlled in an Ajax app, participate in automation scenarios, and send detailed event notifications just like Ajax devices.
