Cluck'd
Partner: Squire Alarms
Cluck'd is a fast-casual restaurant brand serving customers through dine-in, takeaway, and delivery. The chain operates across the United Kingdom and constantly expands.
Challenge
Implementing fire safety, intrusion protection, and video surveillance for a restaurant chain
Cluck'd needed fire safety, intrusion protection, and video surveillance to work as a single integrated system, rather than a patchwork of separate solutions. The rollout across the restaurants had to be completed with minimal disruption to daily operations.
Compliance with EN 54 added another layer of complexity. The project called for full transparency and clear documentation to meet regulatory standards and auditing requirements.

Solution
A comprehensive Ajax setup with a single point of control
Squire Alarms delivered an integrated solution built around fully wireless Ajax EN54 Line. The system ensures certified protection while providing the client with real-time visibility, centralized management, and faster response thanks to a user-friendly app.
At the core of the solution is EN54 Fire Hub Jeweller, an EN 54-certified touchscreen control panel. Beyond fire safety, this hub supports intrusion protection and video devices, running the entire on-site security infrastructure. With fewer components, the system is less prone to failures, more energy-efficient, and easier to control for staff.
To catch fires early, EN54 FireProtect Jeweller detectors monitor for smoke and heat. In the event of an alarm, their built-in sounders and FireProtect (Sounder/VAD) Jeweller provide clear audible and visual alerts throughout the site. Staff and visitors can also trigger alarms manually using ManualCallPoint Jeweller installed across the restaurant.

EN54 I/O Module (2X2) Jeweller links the Ajax system to the restaurant's fire suppression system, HVAC, and in-store audio system. An alarm triggers a coordinated emergency response where all components act in sync.
For intrusion protection outside business hours, Superior DoorProtect Jeweller and Superior MotionProtect Jeweller secure the restaurants, and Ajax sirens provide a loud on-site deterrent. Staff can effortlessly manage security modes using KeyPad TouchScreen Jeweller after authentication via personal tags or codes.

The system is fully wireless, so installation involved no invasive structural changes and cable routing. The process caused little to no disruption to the restaurant's daily operations.
Video surveillance is built around NVR (16-ch), with TurretCam (8 Mp/2.8 mm) cameras providing comprehensive coverage of the premises. The footage is synchronized with fire and intrusion events. This allows users to see what happened directly from the notification and gives operators instant visual context for faster response.

Ajax apps provide centralized management for all three systems. Operators can easily monitor the site and health-check components. Clients can view their complete portfolio within a single interface, which streamlines daily operations.
Squire Alarms also set up a dedicated booking portal, letting the client log faults remotely, track progress, and access job sheets in one place. The result is a streamlined, transparent setup that supports both day-to-day operation and compliance and gives the brand a standard it can roll out to further restaurants.
Why Ajax
- A unified system instead of separate solutions. Ajax combines fire safety, intrusion protection, and video surveillance within a single ecosystem. With EN54 Fire Hub Jeweller as the setup foundation, the client runs all security functions through a single platform.
- Wireless installation with minimal business disruption. The fire alarm and intrusion protection devices are completely wireless, requiring no cable routing or structural work. Installations are quick and do not interfere with restaurant operations, which also makes chain scaling easier.
- Centralized management via Ajax apps. Fire alarms, intrusion events, video streams, and device health status are available through mobile and desktop Ajax apps. Cameras back up notifications with relevant visual context, enabling operators to assess events and respond faster.
