Superior MotionCam AM (PhOD) Jeweller is an indoor motion detector with enhanced anti-sabotage features that are ideal for vacant properties and public spaces. The detector has a new optical system with a reduced blind zone1 of only 2.6 ft and enables crawling person2 detection. Photo on demand, by alarm, schedule, and scenario keeps the monitoring company informed about the on-site situation at any time. The detector raises the alarm in case of opening the device enclosure, removing the device from the mounting panel, or identifying any masking attempts by capturing HD photos of incidents. Superior MotionCam AM (PhOD) Jeweller is equipped with sensors that react to masking the lens. Any sabotage attempt, such as placing obstacles in front of the lens, spraying paint, or even covering the lens with opaque material, is instantly detected. In this case, the system raises the alarm and takes a photo, allowing security companies to respond immediately to potential threats. This protection level is essential for facilities such as vacant properties, schools, shops, restaurants, and other public places, as they require enhanced security measures due to the risk of intentional lens masking. The detector has three sensitivity levels of masking detection that can be configured in Ajax PRO apps to adapt the device to any site conditions.

A new optical system design prioritizes maximum security. Like other Ajax motion detectors, Superior MotionCam AM (PhOD) Jeweller uses a PIR sensor and a Fresnel lens to detect thermal noise and avoid false alarms. The detector features consistent sensitivity throughout the entire detection area and a reduced blind zone1 of up to 2.6 ft. Since the detection zone extends from floor level to full human height, the detector does not support the pet immunity feature. This allows it to reliably detect any intruder, regardless of whether they are running, crawling2, or walking slowly. The specialized pattern of Fresnel lens sections provides the detector with precise information about thermal objects and their movement.

We processed thousands of thermal patterns caused by people and the environment to develop the SmartDetect software algorithm. In armed mode, the detector constantly analyzes the thermal diagram from the PIR sensor, including the IR radiation intensity, thermal spot size, movement speed, time spent in the detection zone, and other parameters. The algorithm filters out potential false triggers such as headlights, lighting devices, and heat flows instantly and with high accuracy. As a result, the detector accurately responds to movement without false alarms.

Temperature compensation

Temperature compensation is a software mechanism that maintains the contrast of the thermal diagram even if the ambient temperature is close to the temperature of the human body. With each ambient temperature measurement, the detector corrects the PIR sensor data according to the coefficient table stored in its memory. The detector is effective over the entire operating temperature range.

The detector’s sensitivity can be adjusted via Ajax apps to match specific site conditions. PRO users can choose from four sensitivity levels to balance detection accuracy with false alarm prevention. Lower sensitivity works well in spaces with potential thermal interference, such as areas near heating equipment or in direct sunlight. Higher sensitivity is recommended for spaces requiring enhanced security, while the very high setting ensures detection of even the slightest movement in the protected area. The optimal setting can be determined during installation via the detection zone test. The setting can be adjusted at any time when the system is disarmed if environmental conditions change or false alarms occur.

It instantly responds to a real threat, minimizing false alarms. The detector is available exclusively to Ajax Systems authorized partners who have completed specialized training. This ensures reliable device operation and maximum security of the protected area.

ReX 2 Jeweller range extender boosts the radio range of all Ajax devices via Jeweller and ensures stable communication through steel and concrete via Ethernet using the wire as the additional communication channel. System supervision

All Ajax devices perform automatic self-test and report their states to the hub. Essential parameters, such as tamper, communication, power supply, and sensor statuses, are continuously monitored. The Ajax Cloud server controls communication between the hub and Ajax apps, ensuring instant notifications for CMSs, security companies, and users. In case of any malfunction or communication failure, an engineer is informed immediately to provide necessary services.

The detector is attached to the mounting panel with a holding screw. Its enclosure has a tamper button, which notifies the security company and users once the device is detached from the surface or dismantled from the mount. The detector automatically takes photos in case of its tamper alarm.

The device’s sensors detect any attempts to mask the lens, including blocking it with an obstacle, painting over the lens, or covering the front part of the detector with opaque material, such as a plastic bottle.
