Ajax Systems releases yet another feature that ensures end-user privacy in case of Ajax video surveillance solutions. With this update, a PRO can be granted temporary video access rights, which are revoked automatically after a certain period.
The new feature provides end users with confidence that their video surveillance system is free from backdoors and unwanted onlookers once installation and maintenance are complete. Security professionals, in turn, can use the temporary access rights to streamline operations and control employee performance.

How it works
Temporary video access rights is a new feature within the Privacy menu, a tool designed to manage access rights to sensitive data. Previously, the system owner could decide which users had a permanent right to view live streams, access the archive, and/or listen to the audio. Now, there is an option for PRO users to receive temporary access rights.
Temporary access rights can be granted for up to eight hours. Then, they are automatically revoked. To regain access, PROs must send a request. The request can apply to one or multiple cameras and specify particular rights, such as viewing live stream, accessing the archive, or using the pan-tilt-zoom feature. Once the temporary access period expires, any permanent rights are automatically reinstated.

The option of temporary access offers benefits to end users, installers, and security companies:
- End users remain in full control of their system once the installer’s or company’s work is complete, preserving their privacy. The video surveillance will be properly configured without the risk of forgetting to revoke access when it’s no longer needed.
- Installers can make more precise adjustments to the system by accessing the camera feed and, if required, requesting additional access rights remotely.
- Security companies are able to fully meet the privacy needs of their clients. They can also monitor various aspects of employee performance, including punctuality and efficiency.
The temporary video access feature is available in apps of the following versions or later:
- Ajax Security System 3.8;
- Ajax PRO: Tool for Engineers 2.8;
- PRO Desktop 4.8.
Ajax video surveillance devices are already secured at both software and hardware levels. Yet the new feature enhances the system owner’s peace of mind by offering greater control over who and when can access the camera footage.
