ReX 2: Photo verification through steel and concrete
ReX 2 is a new generation of Ajax security systems smart range extenders supporting photo verification. With ReX 2, MotionCam and MotionCam Outdoor detectors can be installed twice as far from the hub and, with the OS Malevich 2.13 firmware version, even behind concrete walls and metal overlaps.
Extended radio communication range
ReX 2 provides a two-way connection via secure Jeweller and Wings protocols at a distance of up to 3,400 meters from the hub. A system with 5 range extenders can cover up to 35 km2. This is a handy solution for warehouses, industrial complexes, and other large area facilities.
With the OS Malevich 2.13 update, ReX 2 can connect to the hub not only via the radio connection but also via Ethernet. This allows protecting multi-floor buildings with underground parking lots and sectional metal warehouses without fear of radio signal attenuation or reflection.
ReX 2 connects to the hub via Ethernet through the router. Our system doesn’t limit the potential range of a wired connection, but long segments will require amplifiers or fibre optic with converters.
The Ethernet connection allows you to use the range extender as an access point for wireless detectors in the basement, on other floors, or in buildings next door — places where radio coverage is unavailable or unstable.
Events and alarms even of the most complex objects will be delivered instantly. The first photo verification image will appear on the monitoring station and user apps 10 seconds after the alarm.
Reinforcing the security system
ReX 2 is smarter than a simple range extender. It combines devices into an autonomous group and manages their communication, allowing you to connect up to 199 devices to it (depending on the hub model). At the same time, the stability of the radio connection and the event delivery speed will not suffer.
If there is no connection to the hub for some reason, and the detector registers an intrusion, ReX 2 will receive an alarm and turn on the siren to draw attention to the incident.
Photo verification of alarms
ReX 2 works with MotionCam and MotionCam Outdoor. The detectors take a series of photos when motion is detected, making it possible to evaluate the situation at the facility. The alarm is delivered in 0.3 seconds, and the first photo comes to the monitoring station and users in 18 seconds via Wings and in 10 seconds via Ethernet.
Photos are protected by encryption at every stage of transmission. No photos stored on the Ajax Cloud server are processed or analysed. Visual alarm verifications can only be seen by users with access to the hub’s event feed and by security company employees if the security system is connected to a monitoring station.
Multilevel anti-sabotage protection
ReX 2 runs OS Malevich, which is protected from viruses and cyberattacks. Range extender reports interference within radio channels, jamming, loss of Ethernet communication, and attempts to disassemble the body. In a power outage, the backup battery will provide up to 38 hours of autonomous operation.
The device complies with Grade 2 of the European standard EN50131 and is ready to resist trained intruders.
Hassle-free installation and minimum maintenance
We value the time and effort of the security industry professionals, so we do what we can to make our system easy and enjoyable to work with.
Adding the range extender to the system requires scanning a QR code through the Ajax app. Radio signal attenuation and strength tests are also available in the app to help you find the best place for installation.
The addressability of each device allows you to monitor the status of a particular ReX 2 in real-time using Ajax mobile app and PRO Desktop app for PC. Settings can be changed remotely without visiting a facility.
Alternative power supply units are available for ReX 2: 6V PSU and 12V PSU.
With the 6V PSU model, the range extender can be connected to an external battery and used at a site with no or unstable power supply for 2.5 years without maintenance. The 12V PSU model allows you to connect the range extender to a low-voltage power supply.
