With a narrow 7° horizontal detection angle and installation height of 2–4 m, the device adapts to various security scenarios to protect entrances, facades, fences, and other critical access points. CurtainCam Outdoor HighMount (PhOD) Jeweller is equipped with two PIR sensors with a 7° horizontal narrow viewing angle. They register changes in thermal radiation and detect motion within the protected zone.
K-band microwave sensor
The K-band microwave sensor emits low-power radio waves and registers their reflection from moving objects. While PIR sensors respond to thermal radiation, this sensor provides the detector with information about motion speed and direction, regardless of temperature.

Pre-alarm detection
When an object appears in the wider detection zone, the microwave sensor registers early motion — this is the pre-alarm stage. At this point, the detector activates the camera so it is ready to capture an image. If the object advances into the PIR-controlled narrow zone, the detector activates an alarm and immediately takes a photo. This sequence ensures the image is captured at the exact moment of intrusion, providing clear and timely visual verification.
Thermal interference filter
In armed mode, the detector constantly analyzes the thermal diagram from the PIR sensors, including the IR radiation intensity, thermal spot size, motion speed, time spent in the detection zone, and other parameters. The algorithm filters out potential false triggers such as headlights, lighting devices, and heat flows instantly and with high accuracy. As a result, the detector accurately responds to motion without false alarms.
Temperature compensation
Temperature compensation is a software mechanism that maintains the contrast of the thermal diagram even if the ambient temperature is close to the temperature of the human body. With each measurement, the detector corrects the PIR sensor data according to the coefficient table stored in its memory, ensuring accurate detection across the entire operating temperature range: from −13 °F to 140 °F.
Sensitivity level
CurtainCam Outdoor HighMount (PhOD) Jeweller features three sensitivity levels that can be adjusted through an Ajax app. The optimal sensitivity level depends on the facility type, the presence of potential sources of false alarms, and the specifics of the protected area. A low sensitivity level is suitable for areas prone to false alarms, normal sensitivity is ideal for most facilities, and high sensitivity is recommended for areas with no obstacles.
Professional installation
For CurtainCam Outdoor HighMount (PhOD) Jeweller to deliver precise intrusion detection, correct installation is essential. The detector should be mounted on a vertical wall at a height of 6.6–13 ft. Its swivel mount allows fine-tuning of the tilt angle so the sensors align with the expected intrusion path. The Motion detection area feature in the Ajax app helps configure the detection zone accurately, ensuring the device registers movement exactly where it is needed — without blind spots or unwanted triggers.

CurtainCam Outdoor HighMount (PhOD) Jeweller is equipped with a camera to quickly assess the situation on spot. Thanks to pre-alarm detection, the device captures a series of photos exactly within the detection zones. These images are combined into GIF or MP4 format to show how the situation unfolds. The detector can also take photos at the user's request from the Ajax app, regardless of the security mode. In total, eight types of photo verification are available.

Ajax photo verification feature is designed with privacy at its core. All images are encrypted and accessible only to authorized users, while permissions are clearly distributed between system members and operators. Every request is recorded in the event log, ensuring transparency and full control over who can access visual data.
Outstanding autonomy
CurtainCam Outdoor HighMount (PhOD) Jeweller delivers impressive autonomy: up to three years of operation on pre-installed batteries. The system will notify a security company and users of low battery levels in advance.
A 12–24 V⎓ external power supply unit can be connected to the detector. In this case, pre-installed batteries will serve as a backup power source. An external power supply is not required for the device to receive over-the-air updates.
Ready for heat and cold
CurtainCam Outdoor HighMount (PhOD) Jeweller is ready to operate in any weather. The device withstands heat up to 140 °F and cold down to −13 °F. Additionally, the detector can be installed with the hood to protect the anti-masking system from rain and snow.

Effortless installation and setup
CurtainCam Outdoor HighMount (PhOD) Jeweller is ready to operate straight out of the box. With a 2–4 m installation height and a swivel mount, it offers flexibility in choosing the right position. Ajax apps help quickly make the device a part of the system: simply add the device to the hub by scanning the QR code. In the Ajax PRO app, installers can check the camera's field of view and detection area, as well as configure the detector remotely.
