FireProtect 2 RB (CO)

Wireless fire detector with carbon monoxide sensor

The fire standard of the future

FireProtect 2 is a new generation detector for effective fire detection. A chemical sensor with a service life of at least 10 years will notify you of dangerous carbon monoxide concentrations. Elaborate software protects against false alarms, and also provides interconnected alarms of all fire detectors at the object in just 20 seconds. This is more than required by modern fire safety standards. The SmartBracket mounting panel, combined with in-app settings, provides simple and quick installation.

FireProtect 2 in details

Fire Detection Sensors with CO sensor

Fire detection is an essential aspect of any building's safety measures. Early detection of a fire can help save lives and prevent damage to the protected property. There are different types of fire detectors available on the market, and each one of them is designed to detect specific types of fires. Here are the most common types of such devices: Smoke Detectors: Smoke detectors are the most common type of fire detector used in residential and commercial buildings. They are designed to detect smoke particles in the air and trigger an alarm. Smoke detectors can either be wired or battery-powered and are typically installed on the ceiling or walls of the room. Heat Detectors: Heat detectors are designed to detect the heat generated by a fire. They are suitable for areas where smoke detectors may not work, such as kitchens or areas with high levels of dust. Heat detectors are available in two types: fixed temperature and rate-of-rise. Fixed temperature heat detectors trigger an alarm when the temperature reaches a predetermined level, while rate-of-rise heat detectors trigger an alarm when the temperature rises rapidly. Flame Detectors: Flame detectors are designed to detect the light emitted by a fire. Usually they are used in areas where smoke or heat detectors may not work, such as outdoor areas or places with high levels of dust or steam. We will take a closer look at the key features of one of the fire detection devices — FireProtect 2 (CO) and at how it can help you enhance fire safety at your facility.

FireProtect 2 (CO) — A Wireless Fire Detector with Carbon Monoxide Sensor

FireProtect 2 (CO) is a wireless fire detector that is equipped with a carbon monoxide sensor. The device has a chemical sensor with a service life of at least 10 years, and it can detect dangerous carbon monoxide concentrations. Wireless fire detector from Ajax is designed with advanced software that protects against false alarms and also provides interconnected alarms of all fire detectors at the facility in just 20 seconds.

Wireless Technology with Maximum Effective Radiated Power (ERP)

FireProtect 2 (CO) is equipped with Jeweller communication technology, which is a proprietary wireless technology for the transmission of alarms and events. The device features two-way communication, protection against device spoofing, and block encryption with a floating key. It also offers instant notifications, remote configuration via the Ajax apps, and maximum effective radiated power (ERP) of up to 20 mW. The device also features automatic power control to reduce power consumption and radio interference. Additionally, the radio signal modulation of FireProtect 2 (CO) is GFSK, and its radio communication range is up to 1,700 m between the detector and a hub (or radio signal range extender) in an open space.

Carbon Monoxide (CO) Detection

The sensitive element of FireProtect 2 (CO) is a chemical CO sensor that can detect carbon monoxide concentrations accurately. The device triggers an alarm if the accumulated dose of CO exceeds more than 50 ppm (0.005%) within 90 minutes, more than 100 ppm (0.01%) within 40 minutes, and more than 300 ppm (0.03%) within three minutes. It's important to note that a CO concentration of 400 ppm (0.04%) within three hours can be life-threatening. The device stops notifying about the dangerous level of carbon monoxide when the concentration drops to 50 ppm (0.005%) within one minute.

Sensor Life and Additional Features

FireProtect 2 (CO) has a sensor life of 10 years. After 10 years of operation, the detector must be replaced with a new one. The device comes with an in-built siren with a volume of 85 dB at a distance of 3 meters. It also provides sound notification of alarms, which are active until the reason for triggering is eliminated or until the user disables notification. All fire detectors in the system turn on the built-in sirens if at least one of the detectors registers an alarm. An interconnected fire alarm is activated in 20 seconds. Wireless alarm fire detector also features a LED indication, where green is a power indication, and a LED indicator on the device enclosure lights up once every minute. The yellow indication indicates malfunctions, such as if the battery is low, and a red indication indicates fire alarms. FireProtect 2 (CO) has a button on the front panel of the detector that, in normal mode, runs the detector test when pressed. In the event of an alarm or malfunction, the pressing turns off the detector sound notification.

Features of the fire detector Ajax FireProtect 2 (CO)

One of the key features of the FireProtect 2 (CO) is its advanced communication technology. The device uses Jeweller communication technology, which is a proprietary wireless technology developed by Ajax Systems for transmission of alarms and events. With a two-way communication system and block encryption featuring a floating key, the FireProtect 2 (CO) provides instant notifications and protection against device spoofing. The radio signal modulation of GFSK and radio frequency hopping also help prevent radio interference and jamming, making the device highly reliable and effective. The FireProtect 2 (CO) is also designed to be easy to install and configure, with a SmartBracket mounting panel that allows for simple and quick installation. It can be paired with the Ajax hub via QR code and remote control and configured via Ajax apps, making it easy to integrate into an existing Ajax security system. The device also features an in-built siren with a volume of 85 dB at a distance of 3 meters, as well as LED indicators for power, malfunctions, and fire alarms. Overall, the FireProtect 2 (CO) is a highly reliable and effective wireless fire detector with carbon monoxide sensor that meets the fire safety standards of the future. With its advanced communication technology, sensitive CO sensor, and easy installation and configuration, the device can help protect against the potentially fatal effects of carbon monoxide poisoning.
