Ajax Superior MultiTransmitter (8 inputs) Fibra is an integration module board designed to connect third-party wired devices to an Ajax system. The board can be installed in an Ajax casing and features eight wired zones for connecting NC, NO, EOL, 2EOL, 3EOL, and roller shutter devices. The module can also supply the connected device with 11.5–12.5 V⎓ at up to 500 mA.
Ajax Superior MultiTransmitter (8 inputs) Fibra has a connector for connecting a tamper board when installed in Ajax Case to protect the casing from dismantling. The integration module operates within an Ajax system and exchanges data with the hub via the secure Fibra wired communication protocol.
Ajax Superior MultiTransmitter (8 inputs) Fibra is a device of the Superior product line. Only accredited Ajax Systems partners can sell, install, and maintain Superior products.

Terminals on the board:
- Z1–Z8 — inputs for connecting wired devices.
- COM — common inputs for connecting signal circuits of wired devices.
- +12V — 11.5–12.5 V⎓ power output for wired devices, up to 500 mA in total for all power supply outputs.
- GND — ground terminal for connecting power supply circuits of wired devices.

The integration module requires an Ajax hub running OS Malevich 2.XX or later.
Operating principle
Ajax Superior MultiTransmitter (8 inputs) Fibra is designed to integrate third-party wired devices into an Ajax system. The integration module receives information about alarms, malfunctions, and other events from devices through a wired connection. Then, it sends the event to the hub via the Fibra wired data transfer protocol. The hub, in turn, sends notifications to users and the monitoring station.
A wired device connected to Ajax Superior MultiTransmitter (8 inputs) Fibra can operate in one of the following sensor modes:
- Detect alarms
- Switch security modes
- Control of blocking element (checking the state of the blocking element only)
- Control of bolt lock (checking the state of the bolt lock only)
Ajax Superior MultiTransmitter (8 inputs) Fibra can be used to integrate alarm and auxiliary request alert buttons, indoor and outdoor motion detectors, as well as detectors that respond to door opening, vibration, glass breakage, fire, gas leaks, water leaks, etc.
Note that Ajax Superior MultiTransmitter (8 inputs) Fibra cannot reset fire alarms of connected third-party fire detectors.
You can also set up KeyArm Zone, which enables switching system security modes with a third-party device connected to Ajax Superior MultiTransmitter (8 inputs) Fibra. KeyArm allows you to arm/disarm the system or specific groups (if Group mode is enabled) or manage Night mode.
How to set up KeyArm Zone for Ajax systems
The device type is specified in the settings of the zone to which the wired device is connected. The selected type determines the text of alarm notifications and events of the connected device, as well as the event codes transmitted to monitoring software.
Control of blocking element and Control of bolt lock sensor modes are used to integrate third-party blocking elements and bolt switch contacts into an Ajax system in accordance with the unavoidability principle (German: Zwangsläufigkeit). These modes enable the module to check state changes of the blocking element or bolt lock, respectively. However, the module cannot directly control (lock and unlock) the blocking element or bolt lock states.

Ajax Superior MultiTransmitter (8 inputs) Fibra has eight wired zones. It is recommended to connect one device to one zone.
The integration module has one 11.5–12.5 V⎓ power supply line, with a total power supply output of up to 500 mA. The line has two pairs of terminals for more convenient connection.
Supported connection types:
- NO (normally open)
- NC (normally closed)
- EOL (connection with one resistor)
- 2EOL (connection with two resistors)
- 3EOL (connection with three resistors)
- Roller shutter
The device supports EOL resistors with resistances ranging from 1 to 15 kΩ. The total resistance of all resistors is up to 30 kΩ. To enhance sabotage protection, EOL resistors with different resistances can be used in one detector. The recommended resistance ratio for EOL resistors: R1=R, R2=2R, R3=3R. For devices with solid-state relays or semiconductor switches, it is recommended to use R1 > 3 kΩ.
In an Ajax app, you can select the normal state (normally closed or normally open) for each terminal pair: alarm, tamper alarm, and malfunction. This allows connecting any potential-free contact detector to Ajax Superior MultiTransmitter (8 inputs) Fibra.
How to connect a wired device to the integration module
Fibra data transfer protocol
The device uses Fibra technology to transmit alarms and other events. It is a wired data transfer protocol for fast, reliable two-way communication between the hub and connected devices.
Firmware update
If a new firmware version is available for Ajax Superior MultiTransmitter (8 inputs) Fibra, the icon appears in Ajax apps in the Devices
tab. An admin or a PRO user with access to the system settings can initiate an update via device states or settings. The on-screen instructions help update the firmware successfully.
Sending events to the monitoring station
An Ajax system can transmit alarms to the Ajax PRO Desktop monitoring app and the monitoring station in the formats of SurGard (Contact ID), SIA (DC-09), ADEMCO 685, and other protocols.
Ajax Superior MultiTransmitter (8 inputs) Fibra can transmit the following events:
- Integration module malfunction.
- Connection/disconnection of the tamper board.
- Tamper alarm / tamper button recovery (if the tamper board is connected).
- Connected device alarms/recoveries and other events.
- Roller shutter sensor events (if connected).
- Loss/restoration of the connection between the integration module and the hub.
- Loss/restoration of the connection between the integration module and connected devices.
- Permanent deactivation/activation of the integration module and connected devices.
- One-time deactivation/activation of the integration module and connected devices.
- Line short circuit / power supply restoration of connected devices.
- Short circuit or damage to the line connecting third-party devices to the integration module (for EOL connections).
- Resistance failure in connected devices.
- Failed attempt to arm a system (if system integrity check is enabled).
When an alarm is received, the monitoring station operator knows what has happened and where to dispatch a rapid response unit. Ajax device addressability allows the system to send events with the specified device type, name, security group, and virtual room to Ajax PRO Desktop and the monitoring station. The list of transmitted parameters may vary depending on monitoring software and the selected communication protocol.
You can find the device ID, loop (zone) number, and line number in the device states. The device number corresponds to the loop (zone) number.
Selecting an installation site
Ajax Superior MultiTransmitter (8 inputs) Fibra must be installed in a compatible Ajax casing. The integration module is designed for indoor installation only. It is recommended to choose an installation site where the integration module will be hidden from prying eyes — for example, in the storage room. This helps to reduce the risk of sabotage of the integration module and connected devices.
When choosing a location for installing Ajax Superior MultiTransmitter (8 inputs) Fibra, consider the parameters that affect its operation:
- Fibra signal strength
- Power on the Fibra line
- Cable requirements for connecting the integration module to the hub
- Cable requirements for connecting wired devices to the integration module
You must consider installation recommendations when designing the system. Only specialists may design and install an Ajax system. A list of recommended partners is available here.
Installing in Case
Ajax Superior MultiTransmitter (8 inputs) Fibra can be installed in the following Ajax casings:
- Case A (106)
- Case B (175)
- Case D (430) (a pair of Module Holder (type A) holders is required)
- Case E (395)
Each Ajax casing features mounts for the module, cable channels, and a tamper board. The casing protects the module from external impacts and provides a tamper alarm if the tamper board is connected.
You can install the integration module alongside other devices in an Ajax casing. Use Case configurator to determine the optimal device arrangement inside the casing.
All Ajax casings and holders are sold separately.
Fibra signal strength
Fibra signal strength is the ratio of undelivered or corrupted data packets to the expected number over a specific time. The icon in the Devices
tab in Ajax apps indicates the signal strength:
- Three bars — excellent signal strength.
- Two bars — good signal strength.
- One bar — low signal strength; stable operation is not guaranteed.
- Crossed-out icon — no signal.

How not to install the integration module
- Outdoors. This may cause the module to malfunction.
- In places with temperature and humidity beyond the permissible limits. This may damage the module.
- In places with low or unstable Fibra signal strength.
- Without a compatible Case.
Cable requirements
For Fibra line connection
Ajax systems support Beam and Ring topologies.
The maximum wired connection range is 6,550 ft via the Beam (Radial wiring) topology and 1,600 ft via the Ring topology.
Recommended cable types for connecting Ajax Superior MultiTransmitter (8 inputs) Fibra to the hub:
- U/UTP cat.5 4×2×0.51 mm (24 AWG) cable, copper conductor;
- 4×0.22 mm2 signal cable, copper conductor.
The wired connection range may vary if you use a different cable type. No other cable types have been tested.
Connecting a wired device
We recommend using copper-clad aluminum signal cable with a cross-section of 0.22 mm² (approx. 24 AWG).
The maximum length of the signal cable used to connect third-party devices to Ajax Superior MultiTransmitter (8 inputs) Fibra is 1,300 ft. However, the maximum length may vary depending on the cable type and the requirements of the third-party device manufacturer. No other cable types have been tested.
To check specific cable requirements, refer to the user manual of the device that will be connected to the module.
Designing and preparing
To ensure proper device installation and configuration, it is important to design the system correctly. The design must consider the number and types of devices at the site, their exact locations and installation heights, the length of Fibra lines, the cable type, and other parameters.
Tips for designing a Fibra system
Verification using the calculator
Use Fibra power supply calculator to ensure that the design is correct and the system will operate properly in practice. With the calculator, you can verify the connection quality and cable length for wired Fibra devices when designing the system.
Cable arrangement
Carefully read the user manual for a third-party wired device before connecting it to Ajax Superior MultiTransmitter (8 inputs) Fibra. If you have any questions, contact the device manufacturer's technical support.
Violation of the basic installation rules, the recommendations in this manual, and the instructions provided by manufacturers of third-party wired devices may result in incorrect operation or false alarms.
When planning where to install the integration module or connected wired devices, consider the wiring diagram of the power cables at the facility. Signal cables for system devices must be laid at least 20 inches away from power cables in case of parallel routing. If cables cross, maintain a 90° angle between them.
For facilities under construction or renovation, cables should be routed after the electrical wiring has been installed. Use protective tubes, ties, clips, and staples to organize and secure cables. Make sure that the fasteners do not damage the cables or their insulation during installation.
When routing cables externally (without mounting them inside walls), use a raceway. Raceways should be no more than half-filled with cables. Do not allow cables to sag. Hide raceways from view whenever possible — for example, behind furniture.
We recommend running cables inside walls, floors, or ceilings. This will provide greater security: cables will be hidden, and an intruder will be unable to access them.
When installing, observe the bend radius specified by the manufacturer. Otherwise, you risk damaging or breaking the cable.
Before installation, inspect all cables for kinks and mechanical damage. Perform the installation in a way that minimizes the risk of external cable damage.
Preparing cables for connection
Remove the insulating layer and strip the cable with a special insulation stripper. The wire ends inserted into the device terminals must be tinned or crimped with a sleeve. This ensures a reliable connection and protects the conductor from oxidation.
To check specific cable preparation requirements, refer to the user manual of the device that will be connected to Ajax Superior MultiTransmitter (8 inputs) Fibra. Follow these requirements to ensure the device's stable operation.
Installation and connection
Before installing Ajax Superior MultiTransmitter (8 inputs) Fibra, ensure you have selected the optimal location that complies with the requirements of this manual.
Secure Ajax Case with the integration module to a vertical surface. Vertical installation is needed for the tamper button to respond if someone attempts to detach the casing.
Installing the module
Turn off the power to Fibra lines in the Ajax PRO app:
Hub → Settings
→ Lines → Line power supply
Prepare the holes for cables in the casing inside which the integration module will be installed. Refer to the corresponding Case user manual.
Run the cable for connecting the integration module to the Fibra line, as well as the wired device cables into the casing through the prepared holes.
Install the integration module inside the casing.
Connect the wires to the corresponding terminals of the hub or device on the Fibra line to which the integration module will be connected. Ensure correct polarity and connection order. Securely fix the cables in the terminals.

Connect the wires to the integration module's terminals according to the diagram below. Ensure correct polarity and connection order. Securely fix the cables in the terminals.

If the module is not the last one on the line, prepare a second cable in advance. The wire ends of the first and second cables, which will be inserted into the module's terminals, must be tinned and soldered together or crimped with special tips.

If the module is the last device on the line and you are using the Beam (Radial) connection, install a jumper on the two corresponding pins on the integration module board. When the Ring connection is used, a jumper is not required.

Connect wired devices to the integration module, securely fixing the wires in the terminals. The wiring diagram is provided in the user manual supplied by the wired device manufacturer.
If a wired device requires a 12 V⎓ power supply, it can be connected to the power terminals of the integration module's corresponding zone.
Read the manufacturer's instructions before connecting a device to the integration module.
Install and connect the casing's tamper board to the integration module's corresponding terminal if the board is not already installed and connected to another device in the casing.

Secure the cables inside the casing using cable ties.
Turn on the power to Fibra lines in the Ajax PRO app:

→ Lines → Line power supply
Install the front lid on the casing and secure it with the bundled screws.
Run the module functionality test.
Connecting wired devices to the module
The following steps describe how to connect wired devices to the integration module that has already been installed and added to the system. If the module has not been installed yet, refer to the Installing the module section.
Turn off the power to Fibra lines in the Ajax PRO app:

Unscrew the casing's front lid and remove it.
Select the integration module's zone to which you want to connect a device.
Route the third-party device cable into the casing.
Connect wired devices to the integration module, securely fixing the wires in the terminals. The wiring diagram is provided in the user manual supplied by the wired device manufacturer.
If a wired device requires a 12 V⎓ power supply, it can be connected to the power terminals of the integration module's corresponding zone.
Read the manufacturer's instructions before connecting a device to the integration module.
Secure the cable inside the casing using cable ties.
Turn on the power to Fibra lines in the Ajax PRO app:

Test the operation of the connected wired devices.

How to connect a wired device to the integration module
Adding to the system
Wired devices can be connected to Ajax Superior MultiTransmitter (8 inputs) Fibra either before or after adding the module to the hub.
Check the device compatibility before adding the integration module to the system. Ajax Superior MultiTransmitter (8 inputs) Fibra is a device of the Superior product line. Only accredited Ajax Systems partners can sell, install, and maintain Superior products.
Before adding the module
- Install an Ajax PRO app.
- Log in to your PRO account or create a new one.
- Select a space or create a new one.
- Add at least one virtual room.
- Add a compatible hub to the space. Ensure the hub is switched on and has internet access via Ethernet, Wi-Fi, and/or mobile network.
- Check the states in the Ajax app to ensure the space is disarmed and the hub is not starting an update.
Adding the module to the hub
In an Ajax PRO app, two ways to add devices are available: automatically and manually.
Automatically
To add a device automatically:
Open an Ajax PRO app. Select a space to which you want to add the integration module.
Go to the Devices
tab and tap Add device.
Select Add all Fibra devices. The hub will scan the Fibra lines. After scanning is completed, all devices connected to the hub that still need to be added to the system will be shown.
Scanning is also available in the Lines menu:

→ Lines → Add all Fibra devices
Select a device from the list. The LED indicator will start flashing to identify this device.
Set the device name and specify the room and security group if Group mode is enabled.
Tap Save.
The device connected to the hub will appear in the list of hub devices in the Ajax app.
Manually
To add a device manually:
Open an Ajax PRO app. Select a space to which you want to add the integration module.
Go to the Devices
tab and tap Add device.
Scan a QR code or select Enter code manually to enter the device ID manually. The QR code with the device ID is placed on the module's board. It is also duplicated on the device packaging.

Assign a name to the integration module.
Select a virtual room and a security group (if Group mode is enabled).
Tap Add.
If the connection attempt fails, ensure that the wired connection is set up correctly before trying again. If the maximum number of devices has already been added to the hub, an error notification appears when you try to add another device.
Once added to the hub, the module will appear in the list of hub devices in the Ajax app. The device state update interval depends on the Jeweller/Fibra settings; the default value is 36 seconds.
Ajax Superior MultiTransmitter (8 inputs) Fibra works with only one hub. When added to a new hub, the device stops sending events to the old one. The module is not automatically removed from the device list of the old hub. Remove it manually via the Ajax app.
Adding a connected wired device to the system
In an Ajax system, each device connected to Ajax Superior MultiTransmitter (8 inputs) Fibra counts as one device toward the hub's device limit.
- In the Ajax app, go to the Devices
tab.
- Find Ajax Superior MultiTransmitter (8 inputs) Fibra in the list.
- Select Devices under the module tile.
- Tap Add device.
- Assign a name to the device.
- Select the wired input to which the device is physically connected.
- Select a virtual room.
- Tap Add device. The device will be added within 30 seconds.
The device state update interval depends on the Jeweller/Fibra settings; the default interval is 36 seconds.
If the connection attempt fails, ensure that the wired connection is set up correctly before trying again. If the maximum number of devices has already been added to the hub, an error notification appears when you try to add another device.
To perform the detection test, trigger the connected third-party device, for example, by moving near a motion detector. The state of the third-party device will be displayed in the app. If available, the device's LED indicator will start flashing.
Module functionality testing
An Ajax system provides several tests to help you select the correct installation location for devices. For Ajax Superior MultiTransmitter (8 inputs) Fibra, the following tests are available:
- Fibra signal strength test — to determine the signal strength and stability between the hub and the integration module via the wired Fibra data transfer protocol at the installation site.
- Line power test — to test the power supply of the system's wired devices. The test simulates the maximum possible power consumption of devices connected to the hub to determine whether all devices will have sufficient power in any situation.

The icons in the Ajax app display certain states of Ajax Superior MultiTransmitter (8 inputs) Fibra and connected devices. You can view the icons in the Devices tab.

The states display information about the connected devices and their operating parameters. You can view the states of the devices connected to Ajax Superior MultiTransmitter (8 inputs) Fibra in Ajax apps:
- Go to the Devices
tab.
- Find Ajax Superior MultiTransmitter (8 inputs) Fibra in the list.
- Select Devices under the module tile.
- Select the device from the list.

To change Ajax Superior MultiTransmitter (8 inputs) Fibra settings, in the Ajax app:
- Go to the Devices
tab.
- Select Ajax Superior MultiTransmitter (8 inputs) Fibra in the list.
- Go to Settings

- Set the required parameters.
- Tap Back to save the new settings.

Always active | When the option is enabled, the device connected to the integration module is constantly in armed mode and reports alarms. A user can configure the option only for certain event types. |

Chime on opening
Chime is an audible signal that informs users when opening detectors are triggered while the system is disarmed. The feature is used, for example, in stores to alert employees when someone enters the premises.
The feature is configured in two stages: setting up the sirens and setting up the opening detectors.
Configuring a wired opening detector connected to the module
Before setting up the Chime feature, make sure that a wired opening detector is connected to Ajax Superior MultiTransmitter (8 inputs) Fibra and that the following options are configured in the detector settings in the Ajax app:
- Type of event — Intrusion
- Operating mode — Bistable
- Always active — disabled
- Go to the Devices
tab.
- Find Ajax Superior MultiTransmitter (8 inputs) Fibra in the list.
- Tap Devices under the Ajax Superior MultiTransmitter (8 inputs) Fibra tile.
- Select the required device in the list.
- Go to its Settings
.
- Select the Chime settings option.
- Enable the If device is triggered option.
- Configure the chime sound: 1 to 4 short beeps. Once the sound is selected, the Ajax app will play it.
- Tap Back to apply the settings.
Ensure the Chime feature is enabled for the required siren in its Beep settings.
Indication
The Ajax Superior MultiTransmitter (8 inputs) Fibra LED indicator may light up in red or green depending on the device state.

Malfunctions
When Ajax Superior MultiTransmitter (8 inputs) Fibra detects a malfunction, such as no connection via the Fibra protocol, a malfunction counter is displayed in the upper-left corner of the device icon in the Ajax app.
Users can view malfunctions in the module states and the states of connected devices. Fields with malfunctions are highlighted in red.
A malfunction of Ajax Superior MultiTransmitter (8 inputs) Fibra is displayed if:
- The integration module's casing is open or has been removed from the surface (the tamper button has been triggered).
- There is no connection to the hub via Fibra.
- The wired device's power supply line is shorted out.
A malfunction of the connected device is displayed if:
- The device's enclosure is open (the tamper button has been triggered).
- There is no connection between the integration module and the device (the contacts are damaged).
- The resistors are connected incorrectly (resistance error).
- The system has detected a short circuit in the device's contacts.
The system can report malfunctions to the monitoring station, as well as to users via push notifications and SMS.
Maintenance
Check the functionality of the integration module and connected wired devices regularly. The optimal interval for the check is once every three months. It is recommended to check that the wires are securely fixed in the integration module's terminals.
Clean the casing from dust, cobwebs, and other contaminants as needed. Use a soft, dry cloth suitable for equipment care. Do not use any substances containing alcohol, acetone, gasoline, or other active solvents to clean the device.
