Challenge
Implementing fully wireless intrusion protection and automation across a large, multi-zone sports complex
Such a sizable venue with heavy daily foot traffic required a solution that could be deployed quickly without interrupting regular activities. Previously installed third-party wired devices had proven impractical and difficult to install. As the sports complex continues to grow — with plans for an additional indoor sports center, a hostel, and a school — the system must also be scalable to meet future security demands.
Therefore, the new system had to be fully wireless, ensuring stable communication across the entire site. It also needed to support the integration of existing third-party wired security devices, allowing the client to upgrade the current setup without a full replacement. Intrusion protection devices had to operate accurately, with no false alarms. At the same time, the solution had to go beyond security by enabling automation of sports field lighting and irrigation systems for natural grass pitches.

Solution
Ajax system with stable long-range radio communication and zero false alarms
The solution was delivered by ZC Seguridad. Ajax was selected for its ability to cover a large, open-site facility without cabling. Its scalable design also ensures that the client can easily expand the system in the future. A fully wireless architecture with stable long-range communication, high detection accuracy with minimal false alarms, and remote system management via apps made Ajax the right fit for both security and operational requirements.
At the core of the setup is Hub 2 Plus Jeweller, selected for its ability to maintain stable communication with all system devices and remain online via Ethernet, Wi-Fi, and cellular networks. This was critical for a client, as system availability must be maintained at all times. To extend wireless coverage, ReX 2 Jeweller was added, enabling the system to operate over long distances without additional cabling.

For intrusion detection, MotionProtect Jeweller motion detectors were installed in indoor areas. Additionally, DoorProtect Jeweller opening detectors were used to secure key entry points. In case of an alarm, StreetSiren Jeweller sirens deliver a strong audible signal, serving as both a deterrent and a prompt alert to people on site.

The site already had wired intrusion detection devices installed provided by a third party manufacturer, so one of the client's requirements was to connect these devices to the Ajax system. To achieve this, the partner used MultiTransmitter Jeweller to seamlessly integrate the existing security infrastructure without replacing any devices. This solution not only modernized the setup but also helped optimize costs.

WallSwitch Jeweller relays were used to automate lighting across sports fields and control the irrigation system for natural grass pitches. All key actions are performed through scheduled routines and predefined scenarios.

Several Button Jeweller devices were added to support manual scenario activation. Staff can quickly trigger specific scenarios with a button press, such as turning on lighting or irrigation outside the schedule.
