FAQ

How to calculate the operation time of the hub or range extender from an external battery?

The power consumption of the hub or range extender mostly depends on the number and type of active communication modules.

To calculate the operation time of the hub or range extender from an external battery, multiply the battery capacity by its voltage and divide by the average power consumption of the device (refer to the table).

For instance, if Hub 2 (2G) Jeweller with active GSM module only is connected to a 12 V⎓, 40 Ah battery, its operation time will be the following:

  • (40 Ah × 12 V) ÷ 0.53 W ≈ 900 hours

The values in the table are valid for default hub or range extender settings.

* Values for high energy-consuming GSM providers.

The battery life of the hub or range extender when operating from a power supply unit depends on the following parameters:

  • Number of active communication channels: Ethernet, Wi-Fi, cellular network;

  • Stability of connection via communication channels;

  • Battery voltage and capacity;

  • Battery leak current;

  • Ambient temperature (depends on the type and model of a battery);

  • Server polling interval.

Also, the battery life is slightly affected by the number of devices connected to the hub or range extender and Jeweller settings.

How many detectors can you connect to Hub 2 (2G)

Up to 100 detectors or Ajax devices.

How many users can be added to Hub 2 (2G)

Up to 50 security system users (regular and PRO).
