Challenge
Deploying a reliable yet user-friendly solution for security and fire protection
ECANB required a reliable security solution for its headquarters, where most of the organization's operations are based. In addition to intrusion detection and alarm monitoring, the client wanted to protect its premises against fire hazards. At the same time, its staff needed to maintain visibility into the office to verify alarms and minimize unnecessary responses.
Practical simplicity was another key requirement. Because security and fire protection systems are often deployed and managed separately, ECANB was looking for a user-friendly solution that would be easy to run and maintain.
Solution
An integrated system combining wireless intrusion protection, fire and life safety, and video surveillance
Taking the client's requirements into account, QSA Life Safety & Security designed a comprehensive, fully integrated Ajax system that addressed every request. The solution combined intrusion protection and deterrence, fire detection, and video surveillance. Despite its layered architecture and broad functionality, the system remained intuitive for ECANB employees thanks to unified control through a single Ajax app.
The office was equipped with a complete set of security devices, as well as fire detectors to monitor the premises for the earliest signs of fire. With every device designed for quick installation without messy wiring or enclosure disassembly, the system was deployed with minimal disruption to the organization's operations.
To enhance detection, minimize the risk of false alarms, and give security staff full visibility into the office, QSA added devices for visual alarm verification and incident review. Motion detectors with built-in cameras capture a series of images within seconds of detecting an intrusion, allowing users to quickly assess the situation before dispatching a response.
For another layer of protection, QSA also installed AI-powered Ajax cameras across key areas of the office. Like the motion detectors, the cameras are configured to respond to any alarm in the system — whether intrusion or fire — and instantly send users a notification with the event recording. With visual evidence available in just a tap, security staff can quickly determine whether an alarm requires action and avoid wasting time on false or non-critical events. If footage is needed later, it can be easily retrieved from the Ajax video recorder archive and exported in seconds.
Although each component serves a different purpose, they all work seamlessly together within a single ecosystem. Users don't need to switch between apps or interfaces to access their security system, fire detectors, or camera feeds. Notifications from all devices appear within the same feed with clear information about each event. Combined with the intuitive Ajax app interface, this makes the system easy for new employees to learn and use.
