Ensurе secure app-controlled access to shop windows while preventing unauthorized staff entry
Jewelry stores are high-risk targets for armed robbery and theft. However, they also face risks from within, including potential threats from employees. To be protected against both outside and inside threats, Wow Jewelry stores needed a new security system. This system had to work with existing CCTV cameras to ensure video monitoring continued after hours.
Solution
An automated security system with access control, photo-verified alarms, fire detection, and video monitoring
The stores’ management saw Ajax solutions at the presentation of security devices in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, and recognized them as the perfect match for their needs.
A security system of the stores is built around Hub 2 Plus Jeweller. This hub model was chosen because it supports up to four communication channels and is compatible with MotionCam Jeweller detectors featuring photo verification. When these motion detectors capture movement, they send an alarm to the hub within 9 seconds.
The first line of defense is DoorProtect Jeweller detectors at the main entrance. Another version of the detector, DoorProtect Plus Jeweller, prevents unauthorized access to jewelry cabinets. This device is equipped with shock and tilt sensors. The shock sensor detects vibrations caused by attempts to break the lock, while the tilt sensor detects any deviation from the vertical axis, for example, when jewelry cabinet doors are opened.
When an automatic door system is integrated with an access control system, doors become more than just an entry or exit point. They become a critical component of the building’s security infrastructure. In the case of Wow Jewelry, Relay Jeweller manages the automatic door system and enables remote locking and unlocking. The stores’ employees with corresponding access rights can lock and unlock the doors with a single tap in the app or using Button Jeweller.
KeyPad Plus Jeweller and WallSwitch Jeweller are installed to control access to a VIP room. To enter, the employees need to present their Pass card to the reader on the keypad. If the card is verified, WallSwitch Jeweller disengages an electromagnetic lock.
MotionProtect Plus Jeweller detectors are installed to detect movement when the stores are armed. The devices are also equipped with a microwave sensor that scans the room to distinguish real threats from thermal interferences. Such a verification minimizes costly patrol dispatches to false alarms.
To detect early signs of fire, should it occur, Wow Jewelry decided to install FireProtect 2 RB (Heat/Smoke) Jeweller. The detector alerts store staff and the monitoring company at the first sign of smoke or a rapid rise in temperature. A dustproof smoke chamber, dual-spectrum optical sensor, and proprietary software algorithm ensure accurate fire detection for no stress about false alarms.
Noticing that the facilities already had video surveillance cameras installed, Guard.VN suggested an upgrade. They added the existing cameras to the Ajax system using NVR (16-ch). This integration synchronizes the cameras with the Ajax system. Thanks to automation scenarios, alarm notifications in the Ajax app are followed by a clip from the cameras. The users can verify the alarm without the need to scrub through all the footage.
